TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK GEAR, IT FAILED AND SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE PROBLEM PERSIST AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. *TR
VEHICLE DRIVE MODERATE WARNING IS DISPLAY BUT READING SOME OF THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SIGHT I HAVE ENCOUNTER SOME SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE SHIFTING OF THE TRANSMISSION BUT I TOOK MY CAR TO BMW OF COLUMBUS GA. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 127,000.
WE WERE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND THE VEHICLE JUST WENT IN GEAR ON ITS OWN. I ALSO COULDN'T GET THE CAR TO GO IN GEAR. CAR STILL DOES NOT RUN RIGHT. TRANSMISSION ISN'T RIGHT, WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED IT JUST KICKS BACK IN NEUTRAL AND WILL NOT GO IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. DEALER CAN'T SEEM TO FIX NOR CAN THEY TELL ME ANYTHING THAT THEY CAN DO TO FIX OTHER THAT BUYING NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 6 MONTHS AND ALL SERVICE WORK WAS DONE AT BMW OF SARASOTA. I HAVE ONLY PUT 4,050 MILES ON VEHICLE SINCE NOVEMBER AND I HAVE NOT HAD THE VEHICLE SINCE APRIL BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIX CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND THE TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION EXHIBITED A SLIGHT HESITATION WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
CAR SHIFT FROM DRIVE TO NUETRAL. HAD TO TURN ENGINE OFF RESTART TO GET IT TO MOVE. CAR WENT INTO SAFETY MODE. TRANSMISSION FAULT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING OUT OF HIS DRIVEWAY, THE GEARS WOULD SHIFT AND WOULD NOT HOLD IN GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO THE DEALER. AFTER DIAGNOSIS, THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE INTERNAL LINKAGE FROM THE ELECTRONIC PRESSURE SEAL FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 78,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ON SAID DATE I WAS SITTING IDLE WHILE TALKING ON MY CELL PHONE. THE CAR WAS IN PARK. IT WAS COLD IN CAR SO I WENT TO TURN THE HEAT UP AND WHEN I DID THE VEHICLE WENT INTO NEUTRAL AND STARTED TO ROLL. I THEN STOPPED THE CAR AND TURNED IT OFF. I THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND WENT TO TURN THE HEAT ON ONCE AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I THEN CALLED BMW AND ADVISED THEM OF WHAT HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALREADY SCHEDULED FOR A ROUTINE SERVICE THE FOLLOWING WEEK. ON 2/22/13 I WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND WAS EXITING THE CAR TO STEP OUT FOR JUST A MOMENT WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL. I LOOKED AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL. I HAD TO TURN VEHICLE OFF TO GET IT INTO PARK. *TR

THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE, THE TRANSMISSION FAULT LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE SHOULDER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT DOWN THEN RESTARTED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 135,000.
2006 BMW 750LI I ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CATASTROPHIC INCIDENT. I AM CURRENTLY IN MISSISSIPPI TRAINING SOLDIERS FOR AN UPCOMING DEPLOYMENT TO AFGHANISTAN. PLEASE READ BELOW AND ADVISE OF WHAT SERVICE AND HELP BMWUSA COULD PROVIDE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND I THANK GOD NO ONE HAS BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. 18 JAN 2013 CAR WAS PUT IN D AND JUMPED OUT OF GEAR AND HEARD A LOUD THUD AS IF CAR WAS BEING REAR ENDED. CAR ROLLED FORWARD ABOUT 5 FEET IN THE STREET. I SAT IN THE CAR TRYING TO GET IT IN GEAR. CARS HAD TO MANEUVER AROUND ME AS I SAT THERE UNABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE STREET. 19 JAN 2013 DROVE TO CAR WASH, I PULLED UP TO VACUUM AND PUT CAR IN P, TURNED OFF IGNITION. REMOVED KEY AND PUT ON SEAT. AS I OPENED THE DOOR TO EXIT CAR AND WAS STEPPING OUT CAR, THE GEAR ENGAGED AND ROLLED BACK. I LOST MY BALANCE AND WAS ABLE TO REGAIN COMPOSURE AND JUMP BACK IN CAR AND PRESS THE BREAK. 20 JAN 2013. STARTED CAR UP THIS MORNING AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. SO I DROVE TO JACKSON MS TO HERRIN GEAR BMW. I PARKED MY CAR GOT OUT AND WALKED AROUND. ONCE I GOT BACK IN MY CAR I STARTED IT UP, PUT IN D, ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE OFF AND CAR JUMPED OUT OF D WENT TO N AND I HEARD A LOUD THUD. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO PUT CAR IN GEAR, I TURNED OFF AND SAT THERE IN DISGUST. ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER I WAS ABLE TO START AND DRIVE TO A NEAR BY GAS STATION TO FUEL MY CAR. ONCE I PAID FOR GAS, AGAIN STARTED TO PUT CAR IN D AND IT WOULD NOT GO IN GEAR. ONE THE CAR WENT IN GEAR IT WAS HESITANT TO MOVE AND HAD A DELAY BEFORE PULLING OFF. STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN THE CAR JERKED AS IF IT WAS BEING HIT FROM THE REAR.. FOLLOWING THE LIGHT CHANGE, I GOT A HESITANT PULL OFF AND KNOCKING OR THE CAR SEEMED TO SKIP OR AS IF GEAR WAS SLIPPING. *TR
FROM 2011-PRESENT, MY BMW 750 LI HAS BEEN SERVICED 3-4 TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WHILE BMW STATES THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM, IT CONTINUES TO OCCUR. ON ONE OCCASION, AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS JUST PICKED FOLLOWING A TRANSMISSION SERVICE, I HAD TO CALL BMW ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO PICK UP APPROXIMATELY 25 MINUTES LATER TO PICK UP THE CAR AGAIN. WHILE ON MY WAY HOME FROM BMW, I STOPPED AT A LOCAL STORE AND ATTEMPTED TO PARK. AFTER BACKING UP, THEN SHIFTING INTO DRIVE (IN AN ATTEMPT TO STRAIGHTEN MY CAR IN THE PARKING SPACE) MY TRANSMISSION LOCKED AGAIN. I DID EVEN MAKE IT HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE THE CAR NEEDED TO BE SERVICED AGAIN. TODAY, IS AUGUST 23, 2012, AND MY CAR IS AGAIN AT BMW BEING SERVICED FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THIS CAR IS SO UNRELIABLE THAT I DON'T DRIVE IT MORE THAN AN HOUR FROM HOME NOR CAN I DEPEND ON IT BEING MY ONLY SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION. MY CAR IS AT 64,446 MILES AND IT IS CURRENTLY UNDER WARRANTY. AFTER TALKING TO THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN YESTERDAY, HE STATED THAT HE IS NOT SURE WHY THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR, OTHER THAN FINDING A BATTERY FAULT. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT BMW WOULD HAVE SUCH DIFFICULTY REPAIRING THEIR OWN VEHICLES. THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF THIS VEHICLE AND UNSATISFACTORY WORK IS UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
TL* CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGNAL WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO DOWNSHIFT WITH A LOUD BANGING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM AND STATED THAT THE SERVICE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I WANT TO START BY SAYING, I HAVE OWNED 7 SERIES SINCE 1991, MY FIRST PURCHASE WAS THE 735I, 745 AND NOW THE 750I. THE 750I IS BY FAR A MUCH BETTER DRIVING MACHINE, HOWEVER WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH IT, I WISH I WOULD HAVE KEPT MY 745I!!! IT'S BEEN ONE PROBLEM AFTER ANOTHER! NOW, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR ROLLING FORWARD OR BACKWARDS WHILE PARK!! IF YOU HIT THE START/STOP BUTTON IT WOULD GO INTO PARK (THE INDICATED "P" LIGHTS UP) BUT THEN THE CAR ROLLS FORWARD DEPENDING ON IF YOU ARE PARK ON A INCLINE/DECLINE. SINCE THAT STARTED, NOW I GET A MESSAGE STATING ?TRANSMISSION FAULT? AND IT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF 2ND GEAR!!! THE SELF-CLOSE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TOO!!! AT THIS POINT, I WILL NOT ALLOW MY WIFE TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR FEAR THAT SHE WILL GET HURT WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR! IT ACTUALLY ROLLED INTO MY GARAGE DOOR WHILE SITTING IN THE GARAGE!!! I AM SURE THAT I?M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS PROBLEM, THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECT IMMEDIATELY! I HAVE COMPLAINT TO SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS WITHIN BMW AND NO ACTIONS SEEMS TO BE TAKEN TO HELP REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE SPENT OVER $10K IN REPAIRS AND CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS!!!! *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE AND COULD NOT REGAIN POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WERE THE FAULT CODES WERE RESET. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT IF THE FAILURE HAPPENED TO RECUR, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE BASED ON THE SYMPTOMS THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING. THE DEALER HOWEVER, DISAGREED AND STATED THAT ACCORDING TO THE DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS, THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000. UPDATED 05/11/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION WOULD PERIODICALLY GO INTO SAFE MODE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD BECOME INOPERATIVE. UPDATED 06/01/12

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
I HAVE HAD MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE FOR AN PROBLEM, THAT WHEN MOVING FROM STOP AT AN RED LIGHT/ STOP SIGN. IT SEEN AS IF I'M BEING HIT FROM THE REAR, THIS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS BEEN THERE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. FIRST THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM, SECOND TIME THEY WANTED 1400.00 DOLLAR TO REPAIR THE CAR, BUT AFTER AN CALL TO THE SERVICE MANGER. THERE AN SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE PROBLEM. AFTER REPLACING DMV, THEY SAID THAT THIS WOULD FIX THE ISSUE, ON THE HOME AT AN ROLLING STOP WHERE THE RED LIGHT TURN GREEN (LESS 5 MPH ) WHEN GAS PEDAL WAS PUSH THE CLUNK RETURNED. *TR
VEHICLE SLAMS INTO FIRST GEAR UPON DECELERATION AND "SLIPS" IF YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND THEN ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY, AS IN TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. WHEN TRANSMISSION GETS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC IT WILL SLAM INTO GEAR BEFORE ACCELERATION OCCURS. CAR WAS AT BMW DEALER FOR SEVEN DAYS WITH ALL SOFTWARE UPGRADES THAT DEALER SUGGESTED WERE PERFORMED AND STILL SAME PROBLEM. NO CALL BACKS TO DATE. SPOKE WITH BMW OF NORTH AMERICA AND THEY REFERRED ME BACK TO DEALER. UNWILLING TO ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE ISSUED INTERCOMPANY TECH. BULLETINS REGARDING THE EXACT PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A BMW 750LI SEDAN. THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS CAR INTERMITTENTLY BUT APPROXIMATELY 1 TIME PER MONTH HAS A VIOLENT DOWNSHIFT INTO A LOW GEAR. IT FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE JUST BEEN REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR AND IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET A NECK INJURY FROM THIS "VIOLENT" SLAMMING. IT HAPPENS TO OTHER OWNERS OF THIS CAR AS I HAVE READ ABOUT IT ON MANY FORUMS. BMW WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT IF YOU CAN NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MOST OFTEN WHEN YOU ARE TRAVELING AT SLOW SPEEDS GOING UP A STEEP HILL AND YOU TAKE YOU FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN START TO ACCELERATE. IT IS UNNERVING AND DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE PASSENGERS IN THE CAR. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND THEN LIGHTLY ACCELERATING, VEHICLE SLAMS INTO A LOWER GEAR CAUSING MY HEAD TO SNAP BACK. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS THREE TIMES IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS. THE DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE THIS ISSUE AT IS RANDOM, BUT OTHER BMW OWNERS HAVE NOTED THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

THIS HAPPENS CONSISTENTLY 20 SECONDS AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE AND ENGAGING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. HE FIRST NOTICED THE FAILURE, APPROXIMATELY IN FEBRUARY 2007, AFTER PARKING ON AN INCLINE. THE DEGREE OF THE INCLINE IS NOT RELEVANT TO THE FAILURE, EVEN A SLIGHT INCLINE WILL PRODUCE THE FAILURE, BUT A LARGE INCLINE WILL JOLT THE VEHICLE FORWARD MORE VIOLENTLY. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR IN THE FAILURE. HE WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEALER THAT ALL BMW 750S PERFORM IN THIS MANNER AND HE HAS THAT STATEMENT WRITTEN ON A SERVICE ORDER.
