The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, a warning flashed on the instrument panel to stop the vehicle and to use the parking brake. The contact pulled over and became aware that the vehicle had independently shifted to neutral(N). The contact depressed the brake pedal and observed that "use emergency brake" message was displayed on the instrument cluster. The contact stopped and turned off and restarted the vehicle to attempt to reset the computer; however, a symbol of a vehicle was flashing RED on the instrument cluster while attempting to restart the vehicle. The vehicle failed to restart. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.
