TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE ENTERING VEHICLE, THE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT IMPACT OR WARNING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GILCHRIST CHEVROLET BUICK GMC TACOMA (6014 S TACOMA WAY, TACOMA, WA 98409, (253) 777-3085) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 29,000.

HAD I HEAD ON CRASH AND THE AIR AGES DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL ?? I HAVE NECKLACE AND BACK PAIN WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 19 HOURS. AND NEED TO GET MY BASIC FIXED I HIT MY HEAD AS WELL . BUT IF THE AIR BAGS WORKED I THINK THAT IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AS BAD .I WAS MOVING ABOUT 35 MPH AND HE WAS ABOUT 4O TO 45 MPH AND HE TURN INTO ME.
LOCAL CHEVY SERVICE CENTER TOLD ME THIS MORNING THAT THERE ARE NO CURRENT RECALLS ON OUR CAR, HOWEVER THE AUTOMATED PHONES AT CENTRAL CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THERE WAS AN OPEN ISSUE AND TO CALL BACK DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. THIS WAS A CINCINNATI CITY INTERSECTION ACCIDENT BOTH CARS IN MOTION AT 20-30 MPH TRAVELING AT 90 DEGREES TO EACH OTHER. OUR 2014 SILVER CHEVY CRUZE WAS STRUCK ON DRIVER'S SIDE LEFT FRONT QUARTER PANEL (ENGINE COMPARTMENT) HARD ENOUGH TO SNAP THE LEFT FRONT AXEL AND SPIN THE CAR AROUND. WAITING TO HEAR FROM INSURANCE ADJUSTOR WHETHER OUR CAR IS TOTALED. ZERO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN OUR CHEVY CRUZE! SON WHO WAS DRIVING HAS BRUISES TO BOTH KNEES, LEFT SHOULDER, AND A KNOT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF HIS HEAD. THE OTHER CHEVY CRUZE HAD FRONT END DAMAGE AND ALL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL ANDSUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, LEFT SIDE RIB, SHOULDER, ELBOW AND LEFT ARM. THE TRUCK DRIVER HAD NOT SUSTAINED ANY INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,500.
AIRBAGS FRONT AND SIDE FAILED TO DEPLOY IN A T-BONE TYPE CRASH APPROX TRAVELING 40 MPH, CAUSING 12K WORTH OF DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT WHEEL FELL OFF AND BROKE THE FRONT TIE ROD & AXEL, AND NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.

THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AND CRASHED. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, BUT DID NOT INFLATE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED TWO INJURED FINGERS AND TWO FRACTURED BONES IN THE RIGHT ARM, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,594.

OUR 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE WAS HIT BY A CAR THAT WAS TRAVELLING AROUND 40 MPH AND CRASHED STRAIGHT INTO THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WITHOUT BRAKING. BOTH CARS WERE TOTALED AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH BUT NONE OF THE CRUZE'S AIRBAGS DEPLOYED (FRONT OR SIDE). AS A RESULT THE PASSENGER WAS SLAMMED INTO AND PARTIALLY OUT OF THE PASSENGER WINDOW.

MY 2014 CHEVY CRUZE ECO WAS HIT IN THE RIGHT REAR OF MY VEHICLE BY A 2015 CHRYSLER THAT WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 40-45MPH. MY VEHICLE WAS GOING AROUND 20MPH. ONCE HIT IN THE REAR I WAS FLUNG FORWARD AND TO THE LEFT, CAUSING ME TO HIT MY HEAD ON THE LEFT A-PILLAR AND MOMENTARILY BLACKING OUT AND THEN WENT FORWARD MORE JUST STOPPING BEFORE HITTING MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THEN I HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. NO AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED, NOT A SINGLE ONE. THE ONSTAR SYSTEM SAID THEY DETECTED AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BUT NOTHING EXTERNALLY DEPLOYED IN VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THAT IF AIRBAGS ACTUALLY DEPLOYED IT COULD HAVE LESSENED OR STOPPED MY CONCUSSION I RECEIVED FROM MY ACCIDENT. *TR
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY AIR BAG RECALL TAKEN CARE OF SINCE JUNE. KEEP GETTING THE RUN AROUND AT FAIRWAY CHEVROLET THAT THE PART IS NOT READY AND I WILL GET A NOTICE WHEN TO BRING VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS. EVEN RECEIVED AN IMPORTANT EMAIL THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF ASAP....MEANWHILE NOT ABLE TO USE THE VEHICLE AS MUCH AS I WANT DUE TO THE AIR BAG DANGER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FOR RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V372000 (AIR BAGS) AND RECEIVED THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE SAFETY CONCERN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
THE CAR WAS COASTING ON A LEVEL ROAD. JUST BEFORE THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKE, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BUT THE CAR DID NOT STOP. THEN THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG WENT OFF AND THEN THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG WENT OFF. NO OTHER CARS WERE AROUND. ON STAR CAME ON AND STATED THAT THE OCCUPANTS WERE JUST IN A VERY SERVE ACCIDENT AND THAT EMERGENCY SERVICES WERE ON THE WAY. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AT ALL. GMC SENT OUT AN INSPECTOR AND HE WAS SURPRISED. A REPORT WAS PREPARED AND ULTIMATELY IT WAS STATED THAT THE CAR WAS EXPERIENCING A ROLL OVER EVENT. HOWEVER, THE DATA IN THE REPORT DOES NOT SUPPORT GMCS CONTENTION. ONE MAJOR ERROR DISCOVERED ON THE REPORT WAS THAT THE SENSOR SAID IT WAS A SMALL ADULT SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THAT ADULT WEIGHED 265 POUNDS OR MORE AT THAT TIME. NEXT ONE OF THE DATA RECORDS SAYS THE EVENT TOOK PLACE ON 7/5/2013. ONE OF THE EVENT RECORDERS STATES THE CAR WAS ROLLING IN A CLOCKWISE FLASHING BUT ANOTHER ONE SHOWS THE CAR WAS ROLLING HEAD TO TOE. FINALLY, THE GRAPHICAL DATA SHOWS NO ROLLOVER IN ONE SENSOR AND A COUNTERCLOCKWISE ROTATION IN THE OTHER. GMC STATED THAT THEY WOULD FIX THE CAR FOR FREE AND OFFERED TO PAY MEDICAL FEES AND BILLS. THE PASSENGER SUFFERED A BROKEN COLLAR BONE, A RUPTURED EAR DRUM AND BLOOD PRESSURE ON SITE OF 220/140. THE VEHICLE SENSOR STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS HIT ON THE SIDE (BROADSIDED). THE DATA RECORDER STATES THAT BOTH AIRBAGS WENT OFF AT THE SAME TIME, BUT THERE WAS A THREE SECOND DELAY BETWEEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, THEN THE DRIVER AIRBAG. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR STATUS WAS SET TO THE OFF POSITION, THUS NO PASSENGER AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED PER MANUFACTURER SPECS. NO REAR CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE REPORT SHOWS THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED OUTSIDE THE STANDARDS SET FOR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. *TR
WE RECEIVED GM SAFETY RECALL 14305 ON JUNE 25TH. WE WERE ADVISED OF AN AIR BAG MALFUNCTION AND TO CONTACT OUR DEALER ASAP. WE CALLED THE DEALER (PADDOCK CHEVROLET) IMMEDIATELY AND WERE ADVISED THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED NO INSTRUCTIONS FROM GM. THEY WOULD CALL BACK IN TWO DAYS, WHICH THEY DID. THEY ADVISED THAT STILL HAD NO INSTRUCTIONS FROM GM. IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER A WEEK AND HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THE DEALER . I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT IT IS TAKING SO LONG TO GIVE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE DEALER. IN MARCH GM HAD REALIZED THEY HAD A PROBLEM . IN ADDITION THE RECALL ADVISED US TO CONTACT THE DEALER ASAP DUE TO THE INCREASED RISK OF INJURY.I GUESS THIS POINTS OUT TO US THAT GM DOES NOT REALLY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER, SINCE THEIR FIASCO WITH THE IGNITION KEY. I WILL NEVER BUY A GM AUTO AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF CONCERN FOR SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE CARS. THIS BASIC PROBLEM CAN NEVER BE SOLVED AS IT IS INGRAINED IN THEIR MANAGEMENT STYLE. *TR
