Safety recall sent to me in March of 2021. It is June 7, 2021 and no remedy is available.
I recently purchased this Pick UP and checked on-line for any Recalls. There was one on the airbag - needs replacement of some components. As of 6/28/21, the Recall still states parts are unavailable. I need to be informed when I need to contact Service Center for Repair. Received a recall notice of March 2021, even though part failure presents a serious physical threat to vehicle occupants, manufacturer fails to provide replacement airbag in a timely manner.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21V053000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHEVROLET CADILLAC OF BEND (345 NE 3RD ST, BEND, OR 97701) FOR THE RECALL REPAIR HOWEVER, THE THREADS OF THE AIR BAG RUPTURED, PREVENTING THE AIR BAG INFLATOR FROM SEALING ONTO THE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG HOUSING WAS FRACTURED AND HAD STARTED TO EXPAND. SUNSHINE CHEVROLET (100 THUNDERLAND CIR, ARDEN, NC 28704) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DASHBOARD MAY BE DAMAGED DURING THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT NEITHER THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER WOULD BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES TO THE DASHBOARD. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE DASHBOARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED INTO THE CONTACTS FRONT END SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. 2 PERSONS WAS INJURED WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK AND NECK INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE INSURANCE LOT WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH BEING TOTALED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.*DT*JB*JB*JB
THE DASH CRACKED AROUND AIRBAG, COULD CAUSE PUNCTURE TO BAG WHEN DEPLOYED, CAUSING HARM. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. MILEAGE ON VEHICLE IS ONLY 36,000 MILES.
ROLLED TRUCK, ONLY AIRBAG THAT WENT OFF WAS PASSENGER DOOR.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKING LEADING TO RISK OF FLYING PLASTIC SHARDS IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH WHERE THE AIRBAGS ARE DEPLOYED. THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT ON CHEVY TRUCKS OF THIS MODEL YEAR AND SIMILAR DESIGN MODEL YEARS.
THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ABOVE GAUGE CLUSTER IS CRACKING.
TAKATA RECALL THIS VEHICLE HAS REPEATEDLY SHOWN AIRBAG REQUIRES SERVICING SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW. THE WARNING HAS BEEN LOOKED AT REPEATEDLY AND I AM TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG. HOWEVER THE WARNING PERSISTS. I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT A POSSIBLE RECALL BUT THAT LETTER WAS MISPLACED WHILE ASKING ABOUT THE CONSTANT WARNING. THE TAKATA SITE SAYS THE 2007-2013 CHEVY SILVERADO IS BEING RECALLED FOR THE EXPLOSIVE BAG. I AM VERY AFRAID OF AN AIRBAG PROBLEM BUT THIS WARNING STILL PERSISTS. DO I HAVE TO HAVE A DEADLY ACCIDENT WITH THE AIRBAG TO PROVE MY POINT?
TAKATA RECALL AIR BAG LIGHT HAS CAME ON WORRIED THEY MAY DEPLOY
CRACK IN DASH FROM AIRBAG TO DEFROST VENT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR BAG AND SERVICE AIR BAG INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
TAKATA RECALL. GOT RECALL NOTICE IN MAIL. HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET IT FIXED YET
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, WHICH WAS A SAFETY CONCERN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT FAILED TO REMEDY THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND LOCATED DTC CODE: WAS-B0085-00. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,979.
DASH BOARD CRACKED UPPER LEFT CORNER OVER AIRBAG
"TAKATA RECALL" THE DASH IS CRACKED ON THE WINDSHIELD SIDE AROUND THE AIR BAG AND MAY CAUSE THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY. ALSO HAS TWO CRACKS ON BOTH SIDE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WIITCH LEAVING IT MORE REASON TO DEPLOY.
TAKATA RECALL.MY PROBLEM IS I GET A WARNING ON THE DASH. SAYS CHECK AIRBAG. IS THAT BAD
DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE NEW AIR BAGS TO REPLACE DUE TO TAKATA HAS NOT COME UP WITH A RESOLUTION.
GOT IN MY TRUCK ONE MORNING AND NOTICED TWO LARGE CRACKS IN MY DASHBOARD. VEHICLE HAD BEEN STATIONARY AND IN THE GARAGE THE NIGHT PRIOR. ONE RIGHT ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON THE DRIVER SIDE, RUNNING ALL THE WAY TO THE WINDSHIELD. THE OTHER IS ADJACENT TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I'M AFRAID THAT IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS IT COULD SEND PLASTIC SHARDS FLYING, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.
