I NOTICED EXCESSIVE FRAME RUST. CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR PROPER FIX. RUST WAS SUPPOSEDLY GROUND OFF AND FRAME AND UNDERCARRIAGE WERE UNDERCOATED. APPARENTLY THE FACTORY WAX COATING WAS NOT PROPERLY CLEANED BEFORE PAINT. I RECENTLY NOTICED THE RUST IS BACK ON THE FRAME AND FRONT STEERING PARTS. THIS TRUCK HAS ONLY 16,000 MILES, IS GARAGE KEPT AND HAS RARELY BEEN DRIVEN IN WINTER MONTHS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THE SUBFRAME WAS COMPLETED RUSTED. THE CONTACT CALLED LOCAL DEALER CMA'S COLONIAL CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 12420 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, CHESTER, VA 23831, (804) 748-6461, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE UNDERCARRIAGE SUBFRAME TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,300.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JEFF SCHMITT CHEVROLET SOUTH, 125 S GEBHART CHURCH RD, MIAMISBURG, OH 45342, (855) 529-1732), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD BE THE CONTACT'S RESPONSIBILITY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,787.
PAINT IS CHIPPING AND PEELING ALONG UPPER WINDSHIELD. THERE HAVE BEEN NO ROCKS OR HAIL OR ANY OTHER REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. A FLAKE CAME OFF ONE DAY AND AS TIME WENT BY I BEGAN TO NOTICE MORE AREAS. UPON A GOOGLE SEARCH OF CHEVY FORUMS I FIND THAT THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON ISSUE, RIGHT DOWN TO THE SPECIFIC YEAR/MAKE/MODEL AND AREA OF DAMAGE.
PAINT HAS CONTINUED TO CHIP OFF THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE IN LARGE SECTIONS. THE BODY SHOPS HAVE COMMENTED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS ISSUES INVOLVING CHEVROLET PAINT. CHEVROLET KNOWS THE PRIMER UNDER THE PAINT IS DEFECTIVE. CHEVROLET HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE.
RIGHT REAR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE CAME LOOSE, RARELY USE BACK DOORS WENT TO OPEN ONE DAY AND IT WAS LOOSE. THEN THE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE BROKE A FEW MONTHS LATER.
I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY DASH, I PUT A BLANKET OVER IT AND A SUN VISOR TO PROTECT IT FROM THE SUN. YET, IT STILL MANAGED TO GET A CRACK. I BELIEVE IT MIGHT BE DUE TO GM USING CHEAP MATERIAL OR OVER TIGHTENING THE DASH. THIS HAD TO HAPPEN ON A VERY HOT DAY WHEN MY TRUCK WAS PARKED.
AFTER TAKING A 780 MILE ROUND TRIP TO MISSOURI FROM TEXAS, WHEN FILLING UP I NOTICED THAT THE PAINT HAD PEELED OFF IN LARGE CHUNKS AT THE HOOD AND ROOF. HAS SEVERAL SMALL AREAS THAT THE PAINT IS CHIPPING. IT LOOKS AS IF THE PAINT WILL NOT ADHERE TO THE BODY ANYMORE.
I WENT TO OPEN MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR INSIDE AND THE HANDLE SNAPPED OFF IN MY HAND ,I CALLED MY DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT COVER THIS UNDER MY WARRANTY, I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A BODY SHOP WHERE THE OWNER TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE THE WHOLE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL OF A LIST PRICE OF 430 DOLLARS , HE CALLED A GM DEALER TO ORDER THE PANEL, AND WE WERE BOTH TOLD THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK IT IS A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING , AND HE TOLD ME TO CONTACT GM AND THEY WOULD HELP ME OUT WITH THIS ISSUE , I DID E-MAIL CHEVROLET , AND ON 12-31-2016, RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM A VERY NICE WOMAN WHO TOLD ME I AM COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I PURCHASE FOR THIS REPAIR , AND THAT I WOULD BE HEARING BACK FROM THEM ON 1-3-2016, WELL I SURE DID HEAR BACK ONLY INSTEAD OF A REPUTABLE HONEST AND CARING COMPANY , THAT ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE CUSTOMER ACTUALLY WANT TO PURCHASE MORE GM PRODUCTS, I GOT THE GOON SQUAD , HIRED THUGS, WHO JOB IT IS TO TRY AND DENY ALL LEGITIMATE CLAIMS , IS IT GM POLICY TO TELL A CUSTOMER THEY ARE COVERED , AND THEN ONLY TO HAVE SOME IDIOT TO TRY AND TAKE THAT AWAY ??? , THIS GENIUS TRIES TO TELL ME BECAUSE A NON GM SHOP MADE THE REPAIR , THEY WILL NOT COVER THE WARRANTY, WELL GENIUS !!! HOW CAN I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER WHEN THEY SAID NO!!!, AND I AM A REASONABLE MAN , WHO WOULD LIKE TO KEEP PURCHASING GM PRODUCTS , WELL SIRS GIVE ME A REASON THAT I WOULD WANT TO, AND I AM NOT ASKING FOR THE COST OF THE LABOR, I AM ASKING FOR THE COST OF A DEFECTED DOOR HANDLE PANEL, THAT I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT ON LINE , PLEASE GOOGLE PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK, I AM WAITIN TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU , THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME , AND I AM HOPING YOU WILL DO THE RIGHT THING ? *TR
THE DASH BOARD CRACKED RIGHT ABOVE THE AIRBAG ON TH PASSENGER SIDE IN THE DRIVEWAY PARK OUTSIDE THE HOUSE
PAINT IS PEELING ON ROOF. HAS BEEN FOR WELL OVER A YEAR. GM DEALER SAID IT WAS FROM A STONE BRUISE, AND I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY PERIOD. PEELING ABOVE WINDSHIELD IS FROM DRIVERS SIDE ALL THE WAY TO PASSENGER'S SIDE. HOOD IS NOW STARTING TO PEEL.

THE DASH CRACKED ON MY 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 ON THE CORNER THAT SURROUNDS THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED STATIONARY OVER NIGHT.
THE DASH CRACKED AND GETTING WORSE ON THIS 40,000.00 TRUCK.THIS IS A VERY COMMON DEFECT FROM MY INTERNET SEARCH.IT ONLY HAS 70,000 MILES,THE SUN CRACKED IT AND THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM COULD BE EFFECTED LATER.REDICULOUS,NEVER HAD A NEWER MODEL CRACK LIKE THIS,VERY CHEAP!THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY I THINK WHEN WIFE SPOTTED IT.THEY SHOULD FIX THIS MESS.

THE BOLTS AND NUTS IN THE FRAME WERE ALSO CORRODED AND COULD NOT BE REMOVED. ADDITIONALLY, ALL OF THE UNDERCOATING FRACTURED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE ABNORMAL AND EXTENSIVE AMOUNT OF CORROSION TO THE FRAME AND UNDERCARRIAGE AREAS WERE CONFIRMED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD REMOVE ALL OF THE RUST AND CORROSION AND APPLY A NEW UNDERCOATING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.

IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT FUNCTION AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
THE DASH HAS A CRACK ON THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG
DASH HAS CRACKED ABOVE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THIS HAS CAUSED SAFETY CONCERNS SUCH AS THE POSSIBILITY OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYING OR PIECES OF THE DASH COMING OUT AND INJURING SOMEONE IF IT WAS TO DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED AND HAVE ONLY HAD IT ABOUT 5 MONTHS.
BOUGHT TRUCK USED WITH 22000 MILES ON IT AND WENT TO CHECK SPARE TIRE AREA AND FOUND THE FRAME HAD A LOT OF RUST WHERE THE UNDERCOAT HAD PEALED OFF. WENT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WOULD COST THEM ABOUT $1000 TO REPAIR AND WOULD COST ME $350 DUE TO THE WARRANTY WAS PAST THE 3 YEARS.
PURCHASED VEHICLE WITH 9000 MILES ON IT JULY OF 2014. WITHIN THE LAST FEW MONTHS FOUND THAT THE FRAME WAX IS PEELING RESULTING IN THE FRAME RUSTING. DEALERS ARE ADVISING BECAUSE OF MILEAGE (40K) NOT THEIR ISSUE
SINCE I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK IN 12/2013, THE RUBBER DOOR GASKETS DEVELOP A VERY STRONG CHEMICAL SMELL WHEN TRUCK SITS IN THE SUN, OR WHEN WEATHER IS WARM, WHICH IS MOST OF THE TIME HERE IN FLORIDA. IT SMELLS BAD ENOUGH TO CAUSE NAUSEA, WHICH IS A DISTRACTION WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS A REMEDY TO THIS PROBLEM. *JS
