2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Tailgate opens automatically on its own while parked and while driving. This also causes the battery to drain down to being dead as it continues to operate the actuator I had to unplug the electronic tailgate switch to stop the battery from graining. Besides the battery draining, the tailgate opened when I had a load in the bed of the pick up truck as I drove causing a possible unsafe load and spillage onto the road way. Dealership notified. Appt scheduled for Jan7 2026. No warning lamps came on.

The automatic shifting gear is not shifting the vehicle won't speed up.

The drivers side window regulator cable completely rusted through and broke. There should be a recall as there is a ton of videos on YouTube on how to fix this. Every single one of us the bottom cable completely rusted through and broke on the regulator. First picture is old rusted broke one, 2nd is the new gm part, You can see it was sitting in water, my truck is less than 3 years old. Oh it’s always the driver side

Difficulty shifting from Drive to Park.

I have contacted a dealer on 3 occasions to help me with an unrepaired recall. I contacted GM directly regarding the recall. They won't look at my truck to determine what needs to be done.

My check engine light came on and the diagnostic code was p1098. I noticed there was a special warranty for my make and model and engine but for some reason mine does not have this special warranty. I have researched and found out this is a common problem with these trucks. I think there should be a recall for this as it poses safety problems and concerns when it enters limp mode

The issue is two fold, first the seal on the rear spoiler is defective and causing water to leak into the cab. Second, the seal around the rear power sliding window is defective and is also leaking into the cab. My safety concern is the amount of black mold that could be trapped between the headliner and roof putting myself and family at grave risk.

Our Parking brake locked up and we could not go anywhere. Had to have it taken to a dealership to have it looked at. Then all our warning lights keep going off and it says acceleration speed slow down drive safely and its parked. We have had nothing but problems with the truck since we bought it. We had the transmission replaced before there was even 50,000 miles on it. I feel we got a lemon nothing but problems.

The truck lost power without warning. No warning lights, messages or other symptoms prior to the truck not having any power. Scary because we where traveling at around 40-50 mph and the truck lost power while on the road with other vehicles. The truck is at a dealership now being investigated.

Back glass has cracks in upper plastic rail and is leaking

My vehicle has 43K miles and I just got a p1098 code. I took it to a local mechanic and they have determined that the Engine coolant Control Valve Position Sensor is not functioning. This is causing the fan to run at 100% at all times. I am also getting a message on the dash stating that the vehicle is in reduced acceleration mode. When doing my research I have found that this part is failing on multiple Silverado's. The part is on national back order and the dealership won't answer any questions regarding warranty.

While I was driving down the interstate the audio went to maximum volume. This caused me to panic while driving 70 mph down a very busy interstate because the music was blasting very loudly. I was quickly trying to turn it down and would not work. The power and mute would not work. I had to grab my phone and switch over to Apple Music play a song and then pause it and just keep it paused the entire drive. This happened about 5-6 times in the past year. This is a very serious safety problem. It could easily cause a wreck from panic or dangerous to a newborn baby in the vehicle with speakers blaring as loud as it can possibly go. I have taken it to a dealership twice over it and was just told it’s an update. This is not something you should have to worry about for the life of a new vehicle or take in for an update every time this happens. Luckily nothing happened to me but could have ended very badly or for someone who gets startled easily and possibly damage your hearing.

“Service Trailer Brake System” alert on info center and Trailer Brake Contol lights flickering since purchase February 2022 Trailer brakes intermittently do not work while towing 29’ camper trailer. Reported this issue several times to several different Chevrolet service departments. Have been told by every service department that there isn’t a problem.

While driving, my Bose radio system went to full volume and would not respond. I tried to turn the radio off but the power button would not work. I tried to turn the volume down using both the volume knob and the volume controls on the steering wheel with negative results. If I turned the volume knob fast enough, I could get the volume to turn down, but I had to continually keep turning the knob counter-clockwise else the volume would return to full volume. I was able to pull off the road and I turned the truck off. I turned the truck back on but the volume was still at full volume. I let the truck sit around 10 minutes and was able to drive it again with normal volume. I called my dealer, Bob Jass Chevrolet in Elburn IL to report the incident. Erin said to bring the truck in to have it reprogrammed. This happened once before - summer 2023. Bob Jass Chevrolet reprogrammed it on [XXX]. Other owners have reported having this issue in the Silverado Truck forums. When this happens it is a major distraction, and it will result in someone crashing because of it. Component: Bose sound system. It is available for inspection with proper notice Safety at risk: The volume goes to full volume instantly without warning and can't be turned down. The truck must rest approximately 10 minutes to return to normal. Problem reproduced: When I reported this to the dealer in June 2023 Erin advised this has happened to other owners and she wasn't surprised. Component inspected: Bob Jass Chevrolet service department has reprogrammed the Bose sound system once before but the problem happened again on [XXX]. When driving the RADIO goes full volume, then after about 15sec ( and spilling your coffee all over the place) it turns down then the radio screen says restarting. Now 2 issues this is going to blow all of my speakers and no one will warranty it ( cause its not my fault it goes full ON) and the other issue is ... i'm driving at 5am and this thing goes full blast and when your drinking your coffee or anything and this sudden JOLTED IMPACT OF NOISE hits ya scared the crap out of you... this needs to be fixed... it happens like once a month.. very random... but it happens after the truck has sat for a work shift or in the morning but not always in that scenario

I was driving on Pa Turnpike around Denver, PA, at about 75 MPH, I saw in my review mirror, what I first though was dust or smoke blowing around my truck bed. I slowed down 10-15 MPH, a small flame was visible through the rear window, between cab and bed. I immediately pulled over, put in park , turned on flashers, grabbed my phone and wallet, got out of the vehicle. opened the rear door grabbed one bag and saw flames over the cab. Flames were visibly getting larger between cab and and bed, flames were also exiting under bed and driver side rear wheel well. I walked up the turnpike about 100 feet and called 911. The truck became fully engulfed while on phone with 911. Picture labeled first picture was after 911 call, and about 5-min after stopping vehicle. Fire Company showed up 15-min. later but vehicle was already gone. Allstate Ins. has possession of truck. Truck had 25K miles and was purchased new January 2022. The truck has been maintained per manufactures specifications by Faulkner Chevrolet in Lancaster, PA. The truck had no damage ever, was never off-road, and there were no environmental issues to cause the fire. Only modifications to vehicle was a professionally sprayed in bed liner.

The inside silver trim pieces blind the driver and passenger when the sun reflects off them. The trim piece on the driver side reflects into the side view mirror, blinds the driver and does not allow you to see blind spots.

Purchased a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST with the Trailer brake controller installed from GM. Though when I got home and tried moving my trailer I made it roughly 2 miles before the Driver Information Center notified me “Trailer Brakes Disabled Service Required” followed by the trailer brakes no longer working.

The integrated trailer brake system fails shortly after plugging in a trailer. I have tried both my travel trailer and flatbed trailer. Both have the same issue. This started in November 2022, the first time I tried to pull one of my trailers. The message on the driver information panel would say Trailer Braking system disabled. System needs repair. I can't pull any trailer with electric brakes at this time. I purchased the truck in October 2022. Took it to the dealership I bought it from. They where able to make the message appear. This is reference document PIT5948A-GM. They say it is being worked on, but no resolution at this time. Not sure what I am suppose to do, as I would like to use my trailers.

From day one of purchasing this vehicle the trailer brake controller would stop working after a mile or so while towing either of my two trailers. I brought the truck back to the dealer to get this issue fixed and their service response was "we could not duplicate problem, it must be with your trailer". I have two 10K trailers and both have same issue with my truck. I then went to and Utility Trailer dealer to determine if a new/never used trailer on the lot would duplicate them problem, which it did, proving the issue is not with my trailers, it is with the truck. This issue is a true safety issue because the warning 'brakes disabled' does not show up until you start driving/pulling a trailer. The brake controller message comes up on front display (trailer brakes disabled service required) and this shuts off trailer brakes which is a true safe issue if the vehicle needs stop. I've researched this issue extensively and social media platforms have this same issue reported however to my dismay there are no active or open recalls. I NEED THIS FIXED and I will continue to pursue and raise this issue as it's both dangerous and frustrating that I purchased a very expensive vehicle where I cannot use it as I need to.

Service Trailer Brake Message with DTC C159C; Upon attaching my RV trailer, the trailer connected to the integrated systems as expected. Went though light inspections. I adjusted trailer brake gain. Upon first drive the message: Trailer Brakes Disabled Service Required. Took vehicle to dealership. They found #PIT5948A from Oct 6th, 2022 stating that engineers are aware of issue for all models using this integrated trailer brake. This is an Urgent issue and critical for those pulling trailers with brakes. This is very dangerous to have trailer brakes disabled when pulling heavy trailers can can result in serious accidents and should be addressed immediately. I've also not seen any communications on this from GM.
