THE SHIFTER BUSHING RECALL IS NOT SHOWING FOR MY VEHICLE, BUT HAS THE SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALL.THEVEHICLE IS SAYING THAT IT'S NOT IN PARK BUT IT IS, THE SHIFTER WILL NOT OPERATE, AND ALL GEARS ARE SHOWING IN REVERSE. I WAS DRIVING AND WAS GOING TO STOP AND GO IN REVERSE WHEN THE SHIFTER WAS STUCK.

THE CONTACT SAID AFTER TWO WEEKS THE PANEL SCREEN WENT TOTALLY BLACK. IRON CITY FORD DELIVERS (9924 PKWY E, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35215, (205) 854-2222) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WOULD NOT HELP WITH THE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT YET BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS UNREPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,500.

THE SHIFTER OF MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE WAS STUCK IN 'S' POSITION TWO DAYS AGO WHEN I JUST STARTED MY CAR. THE SHIFTER HANDLE WAS ACTUALLY IN P POSITION. I HAD TO CALL TOWING COMPANY AND THE DEALER TOLD ME IT IS MY SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING DETERIORATED AND UNABLE TO ALLOW SHIFT CABLE TO COME LOOSE TO CHANGE SHIFT. FORD PREVIOUSLY HAD A RECALL FOR 2013-2014 ESCAPE MODEL FOR THE SAME BUSHING PROBLEMS NOT INCLUDING 2015 MODELS. BUT A LOT PEOPLE POSTED THREADS ONLINE SAYING THEIR 2015 MODEL ALSO HAVE THAT PROBLEMS. SOME CUSTOMER GOT IT FIXED FREE OF CHARGE AND MOST CUSTOMERS DID NOT. I CONTACTED WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME IT IS UP TO THE DEALER WHETHER TO ALLOW REIMBURSEMENT BUT THIS SHOULD BE DEFINITELY BE RECALLED BECAUSE THIS CAN BE A BIG SAFETY CONCERN.

BUT IF PUSH 3 TIMES AS HARD ENGINE SHUT OFF (FEW DAYS PREVIOUSLY AND AFTER BUTTON FELT AND WORKED FINE). VEHICLE WENT BACK TO DEALER TODAY FOR THIS SECOND NEW BEARING IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. PERIODICALLY ON WAY TO DROP OFF VEHICLE THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE AND DIGITAL DISPLAY NUMBER BOUNCED INTERMITTANTLY TO ZERO AND BACK TO SPEED. ABS LIGHT , "I" , AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ON. (WHEN DROPPED IT OFF AT DEALER THE DEALER THEMSELF EXPERIENCED THE 'START/STOP BUTTON WONT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE' WHILE CHECKING IN THE VEHICLE FOR THE BEARING REPLACEMENT.)

RADIO AND CD SYSTEM STOPPED PLAYING FOR FOUR DAYS, THEN CAME BACK ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO TIMES BEFORE BUT CAME BACK ON THE SAME DAY. FORD DEALER PERSON TOLD ME TO DISCONNECT BATTERY CABLE FOR 10 MINUTES AND WHEN I CONNECT IT BACK THE SYSTEM WOULD RESET ITSELF. I DID NOT WANT TO TRY THAT, NOT MECHANICALLY INCLINED. THE WIPERS ON THE LOW SETTING RUNS STEADY BUT STOPS MAKING IT HARD TO SEE BECAUSE OF THE RAIN UNLESS I PRESS WIPER ARM. THE HEADLIGHTS DIM AND COME BACK UP RANDOMLY, I NOTICE IT MOSTLY SITTING AT RED LIGHT.

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER SCREEN MULTIPLE FUNCTION DISPLAY FAILED TO DISPLAY INFORMATION. THE MULTI FUNCTION DISPLAY WOULD SHOW EITHER A BLACK OR GRAY SCREEN, PERIODICALLY WITH WHITE LINES, WITH NO READOUTS SHOWING AT ALL. APPARENTLY A RECALL (15CO3) WAS ANNOUNCED AND THE DEALER PERFORMED THE RECOMMENDED SOFTWARE UPDATE AT 32,837 MILES WHICH DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM PERMANENTLY. THE PROBLEM REAPPEARED AT APPROXIMATELY 39K MILES. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO MAKE REPAIRS USING A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM AND THE DEALER INSTALLED A NEW INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AT MY EXPENSE. I AM ASKING YOU IF THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE ORIGINAL RECALL OR IF AN ADDITIONAL RECALL HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED OR SHOULD BE ESTABLISHED.

I SEE A RECALL FOR 2015 FORD ESCAPES MANUFACTURED IN LOUISVILLE KY DURING THE TIME MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. THE RECALL # IS 15V406000 ON YOUR WEBSITE.

THE BATTERY IS MOUNTED WITH A TOP STRAP THAT KEEPS THE BATTERY IN THE BOX, BUT IT DOES NOT PREVENT THE BATTERY FROM MOVING AROUND IN THE BOX. THE POSITIVE CABLE THAT ATTACHES TO THE BATTERY IS VERY RIGID - IT DOES NOT ALLOW THE FREE MOVEMENT OF THE BATTERY. RESULT: THE POSITIVE BATTERY POST IS BEING STRESSED SEVERELY, CAUSING BATTERY FAILURE, INCLUDING INTERMITTENT OPERATION DUE TO THE POSITIVE BATTERY POST MOVEMENT (NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN) MAKING OPEN AND THEN CLOSED CIRCUIT CONNECTIONS. IT IS POSSIBLE/PROBABLE THAT THIS CONDITION WILL RESULT IN AN EXPLOSION. POOR DESIGN. IF THE ENGINEERS WANT TO ALLOW THE BATTERY TO MOVE WITHIN THE BOX, THEY MUST PROVIDE A FREE-FLOATING POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE, OR MODIFICATIONS MUST BE MADE TO SECURE THE BATTERY SO IT DOES NOT MOVE.
