WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DRIVER HEARD A LOUD NOISE, AND ENGINE BEGAN TO SHAKE. CONSUMER PULLED OVER AND PARKED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS AND CYLINDER HEADS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE BLEW OUT, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
TOOK VEHICLE INTO DEALER FOR ONE PROBLEM, AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH $4100 IN PROBLEMS INCLUDING A LEAKY HEAD GASKET (LEAKING ON RIGHT SIDE) AT 57,000 MILES. OUR MECHANIC TRIED "RAD SEAL" AS A TEMPORARY FIX FOR THE LEAK...STILL WAITING TO SEE IF IT WORKED. *AK
SPARK PLUG FAILURE AT 67,000 MILES, WELL BELOW MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATION OF 100K MILES. ALSO, SPARK PLUG COIL FAILURE. *AK
SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT WITH NO WARNING, BEFORE RECOMMENDED TIME TO BE REPLACED. THREADS ARE STRIPPED, HEAD ALONG WITH RELATED COMPONENTS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. SPARKS WERE OBSERVED DIRECTLY AT FUEL INTAKE WHERE FUEL VAPORS WERE AT CONSIDERABLE DANGER OF BEING IGNITED. VEHICLE COULD HAVE EXPLODED WITH AN ENTIRE FAMILY INCLUDING 3 YOUNG CHILDREN RIDING IN VEHICLE AT TIME OF INCIDENT . *LA
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED. VEHICLE RAN VERY ROUGH. ALSO, HESITATED AS IF DIDN'T HAVE FUEL IN IT. THEN IT LOST POWER. THIS WAS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE. *AK
I BOUGHT A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION ,THE CAR IS LESS THAN THREE YEARS OLD AND THE ENGINE "SEIZED". MY VEHICLE IS OVER 36000 MILES SO IS NO LONGER COVERED BY WARRANTY, HOWEVER, THE CAR WAS REGULARLY MAINTAINED AND THE ENGINE ALWAYS HAD OIL. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WITH NO WARNING. I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY WERE UNWILLING TO HELP. I AM STUCK WITH A $6000 BILL TO REPLACE THE ENGINE.*JB
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH THE VEHICLE'S GAUGES BEGAN FLASHING ERRATICALLY AND THE ENGINE STALLED IMMEDIATELY. DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT ENGINE HAD FAILED AND CONSUMER HAD TO REPLACE.
ENGINE OIL LEAK. REPAIRED TWICE UNDER WARRANTY, THIRD TIME THEY COULDN'T FIND THE SAME LEAK. *LA

WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER STATES' THE VEHICLE'S TAIL PIPE WAS SHOOTING OUT METAL. CONSUMER WITNESS FLAMES IN THE REAR SEAT, PULLED OVER AND VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. CAUSE IS STILL UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.
MOTOR MOUNT BOLT HAD BROKEN FROM VEHICLE, CAUSING ENGINE TO SHUTTER AND LOSE POWER. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
VEHICLE STARTED STALLING AT 24000 MILES. VEHICLE HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES AT ANY SPEED. TAKEN TO DEALER 9 TIMES. DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION AND PCM MODULE, DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM.*AK THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL PUMP SENSOR AND PROCESSOR HAVE BEEN REPLACED, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *SLC

I HEARD A TAPPING NOISE IN THE HOOD. I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP THEY STATED I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. *AK
I PURCHASED MY NEW EXPEDITION IN OCTOBER OF 2000. ON 5/16/02 I TOOK IT IN FOR MY SECOND ANNUAL INSPECTION (44,000 MILES). I HAD ALSO ASKED THEM TO LOOK INTO A SMALL OIL LEAK ON MY VEHICLE. I THOUGHT THAT PERHAPS THE PLUG WASNT FULLY TIGHTENED AT MY LAST OIL CHANGE. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAVE A DEFECTIVE HEAD GASKET. I WAS EVEN MORE SHOCKED WHEN I WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIR ESTIMATE FOR THE HEAD GASKET WAS $2100! I WAS INFORMED THAT BECAUSE MY CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I ASKED THEM TO HOLD OFF ON THAT REPAIR UNTIL I COULD DO SOME RESEARCH REGARDING THIS ISSUE. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN 3 SERVICE BULLETINS ISSUED FOR THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE HAVE ALSO BEEN LOGGED ON THE INTERNET.*AK
VEHICLE STALLS OUT AND DIES ON AN INCLINE. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM, AND HAS PUT A BOX TO RECORD THE STALLING. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.*AK

OWNED THE CAR FOR TEN MONTHS. DURING THIS PERIOD, THE VEHICLE REPEATLY LOOSES POWER WITHOUT NOTICE. LATELY THIS HAS BECOME A SAFETY PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING SOUTH ON I-75 AND THE INTERSECTION I-475 (HAULING TRAVEL TRAILER) THE TRUCK LOST POWER UP A SLIGHT INCLINE. TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED 2 GEARS AND ENGINE SHOT TO 4500RPM, WHILE THE SPEED DROPPED FROM 65 TO 40MPH IN LESS THAN 100 YARDS. 18 WHEELERS SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING US FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. IN THE PAST TEN MONTHS THE CAR ALSO EXHIBITS OTHER ANOMOLIES, SUCH AS SEATS AND MIRRORS MOVE AND LOOSE THEIR POSITION WITHOUT COMMAND FROM THE REMOTES. ONCE THIS HAPPENS, COMPUTER MUST BE RESET. OTHER ANOMOLIES THAT HAPPEN IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MIRRORS AND SEATS ARE THE REVERSE SENSORS FAIL TO WORK PROPERLY, AND THE ALARM ACTIVATES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TURNED OVER TO THE DEALER NO LESS THAN 8 TIMES WITHOUT SUCCESS IN FINDING THE PROBLEM.... HELP. *AK
NEW VEHICLE SUBMITTED TO DEALER FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK WARRANTY SERVICE AT ODOMETER 3973, 9402, 9565, AND 11,864. ALL MAJOR GASKETS REPLACED IN COURSE OF WARRANTY SERVICE. ON FOURTH WARRANTY SERVICE VISIT, PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS WARPED BLOCK. REMANUFACTURED ENGINE INSTALLED. REQUESTING DISPUTE SETTLEMENT BOARD HEARING FOR RELIEF IN THE FORM OF FULL REFUND BASED ON BREACH OF PURCHASE CONTRACT FOR NEW VEHICLE AND SUBSTANTIAL IMPAIRMENT OF MARKET VALUE RESULTING FROM INSTALLATION OF REMANUFACTURED ENGINE.
