TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS HOT. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AS NEEDED AND WAS TOWED TO APPLE FORD LINCOLN APPLE VALLEY (7200 150TH ST W, APPLE VALLEY, MN 55124) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED THREE TIMES HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. A CASE NUMBER WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 166,500.
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING CAUSING THE CAR TO SHUDDER WHEN TURNING RIGHT ONLY OCCASSIONALLY WHEN TURNING LEFT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN WHEN RAINING JUST UNDER 59500 MILES ON IT
MY 2017 FORD FOCUS TRANSMISSION WENT OUT.
THE CAR WAS FULLY STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A STATE NUMBERED HIGHWAY. I PUT THE CAR INTO 1ST GEAR (MANUAL TRANSMISSION) AS USUAL AND GOT THE CAR MOVING. WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND THE CLUTCH PEDAL GOT STUCK FULLY ENGAGED TO THE FLOOR, NOT ALLOWING ME TO PUT THE CAR IN GEAR AND KEEP MOVING. I WAS ABLE TO FORCE THE CLUTCH TO DISENGAGE AFTER A FEW SECONDS AND GET THE CAR INTO 2ND GEAR. THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN GOING FROM 2ND TO 3RD. THE CLUTCH WAS BURNED IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO GET THE CAR MOVING UP TO SPEED AND IT TOOK THE ENTIRE NIGHT FOR THE SMELL TO DISSIPATE. I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME AFTER THAT AND TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING MORNING. SINCE THE DEALER CANNOT RECREATE THE ISSUE, THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FURTHER THAN A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK.
JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND IT ONLY HAD A LITTLE OVER 74,000 MILES. THE TRANSMISSION IS ALREADY SLIPPING AND FROM MY RESEARCH, THIS IS A COMMON, KNOWN ISSUE BY MANY FORD FOCUS OWNERS. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY WOULD ONLY REPAIR IT IF WE PAID OUT OF POCKET EVEN THOUGH THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR ISSUES. WE CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WOULD NOT HELP EITHER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THE CLUTCH SHUDDERED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANDERSON FORD OF ST. JOSEPH (2207 N BELT HWY, ST JOSEPH, MO 64506) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN UNKNOWN CLUTCH ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA HOTLINE TO FILE A SAFETY COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,260.
THE TRANSMISSION IN MY CAR IS SLIPPING. WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW OFF THE LOT, I WAS TOLD THE JERKING IN THE CAR WAS NORMAL FOR THE TYPE IT IS. IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE. I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING. WHILE RECEIVING AN OIL CHANGE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NOURSE CHILLICOTHE AUTOMALL (423 N BRIDGE ST, CHILLICOTHE, OH 45601, (888) 691-6167) AND THE CLUTCH KIT WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER OWNING IT THEY HAD TO REPLACE PRESSURE PLATES IN THE VHICLE AFTER 25K MILES. NOW IT HAS 50K MILES AND IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING AGAIN. AFTER READING MANY FORUMS THERE CLEARLY IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.
THERE IS ONLY A LITTLE MORE THAN 90,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACING. DEALERSHIP SAID THE INTERNAL GEARS WERE GRINDING DOWN.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR SPUTTERS WHILE ACCELERATING SOMETIMES THE ENGINE BOGS ALL THE WAY DOWN WHICH MAY CAUSE A REAR END COLLISION DUE TO THE ENGINE NOT BEING ABLE TO PRODUCE POWER DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION SPUTTERING. I BOUGHT THE CAR BACK IN 2017 BRAND NEW IN THE STATE OF MISSOURI AND A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER I GOT THE CAR I STARTED SEEING THOSE PROBLEMS I SPOKE WITH THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT AT THIS TIME BECAUSE THERE IS NO PENDING RECALLS ON MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE RELATED TO MY DRIVETRAIN. I'VE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 3 YEARS AND IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 28000 MILES ON IT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS A MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY ON IT BUT I DON'T WANT TO BOTHER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TO GET THE RUNAROUND HOW ABOUT WHAT IS POSSIBLY WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. *TR
THE CLUTCH IN THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED TWICE. IT CAUSES MY CAR TO JERK AND SHUDDER UPON ACCELERATION. I'VE ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THE JERKING.FORD DOESN'T HAVE A PERMANENT FIX FOR THIS.
THE CAR SHUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND FIXED IT AT LEAST 3 TIMES AND THEY SAY THERES NOTHING FOR ME TO DO BUT TO KEEP REPAIRING IT AND ONCE I DONT HAVE A WARRANTY THE MONEY WILL GO OUT OF MY POCKET.
WHEN STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION ON A STREET AND THE CAR BEGINS IN MOTION, IT HAS A SLUGGISH AND JERKY START. I TOOK THE CAR TO AN AUTO MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT NEEDED A NEW DUAL CLUTCH IN THE TRANSMISSION.
I HAVE HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS WHEN I ACCELERATE. IT ALSO SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING AND TURNING SIMULTANEOUSLY. THIS SEEMS TO BE THE EXACT SAME ISSUE THAT AFFECTED FORD FOCUSES BUILT IN 2012-2016 VEHICLES. IT OCCURS MOSTLY WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. IT HAS OCCURED THROUGHOUT THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE (CURENTLY ~20K MILES DRIVEN). THIS ISSUE IS STILL ONGOING.
2017 FORD FOCUS REQUIRED TRANSMISSION WORK AT 24,000 MILES. NOW, AT 28000 MILES I HAVE TO HAVE THE SAME TRANSMISSION WORK DONE AGAIN. CAR SHUDDERS WHEN GOING FROM STOP. IF I STOP ON A HILL I HAVE TO HOPE NO CAR IS BEHIND ME BECAUSE THE SECOND I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE CAR ROLLS BACK.

MY 2017 FOCUS CONTINUES TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL PERIODICALLY WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS WHILE ACCELERATING. I HAVE BROUGHT IT IN 3 TIMES FOR THIS AND FOR THE SHUDDER/VIBRATION ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT NEUTRAL SHIFTS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. FORD COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE WITH THE NEUTRAL SHIFT AND WILL NOT FIX IT. THEY WILL ALSO NOT CORRECT THE SHUDDER / VIBRATION BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH THEY CONFIRMED THE SHUDDER, IT WAS STILL "WITHIN SPEC". 2 DAYS AFTER I PICKED IT UP FROM SERVICE FOR THE ISSUES, THE NEUTRAL SHIFT HAPPENED AGAIN AND I WAS NEARLY HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. I FEAR MY FIANCE WHO DRIVES THE CAR WILL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THESE PROBLEMS THAT FORD IS NOT CORRECTING. I HAVE ALL THE PAPERWORK FROM THE FORD DEALER THE ISSUES WERE "CORRECTED" AT.
MY 2017 FORD FOCUS IS SLIPPING INTO NEUTRAL AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, HESITATING TO FIND THE RIGHT GEAR, JOLTING FORWARD WILL DRIVING AND AT A STOP, LOSING POWER DUE TO SLIPPING INTO NEUTRAL, AND REVS UP TO SIX THOUSAND R.P.M.'S WHILE TRYING TO TAKE OFF FROM A STOP. IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN ORDER FOR MY WIFE TO TRANSPORT THE KIDS TO AND FROM SCHOOL.

IT'S THE SAME TRANSMISSION THAT'S IN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND I GOT THE SAME PROBLEMS IN MY 2017 FORD FOCUS SE AND FORD IS STILL TRYING TO CHARGE ME $2,600 TO REPAIR IT. BEEN WITHOUT A CAR FOR 3 MONTHS DURING THIS PANDEMIC, BUT AIN'T MISSED A PAYMENT SO PAYING FOR IT TO SIT OUT FRONT THE HOUSE. TOOK IT TO FORD AND SAID ITS CLUTCH ACTUATOR AND AGAIN $2,600. MY BATTERY DIED AND MY TRANSMISSION GOES OUT, BEATS ALL I EVER HEARD. *TR
