2015 Ford Fusion Electrical System

Rear camera continuously malfunctions with grainy/dark image, just completely failed with message on screen “Rear camera Not Available”. This puts myself and the people and vehicles around me at risk of collision when parking or reversing out of a parking space. This problem is common among many Ford Fusion owners.

The rear camera has worked intermittently, it goes out and comes back on. It is a huge safety risk. Mg vehicle needs to be included in the recall.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was unknown. It was later discovered that the mileage was 53,522.

The rear camera does not function properly on my 2015 Ford Fusion. When I try to use it, it either turns into a black screen or the message reads that "rear camera is unavailable", which has almost caused me to collide with another vehicle several times as I was trying to back up. I understand that there is a national recall for Ford Fusion vehicles from 2018 on for exactly the same reason. However, even though my Ford Fusion is a 2015, it demonstrates the same problem as the newer models listed in the recall. I would like to have my camera replaced (at no charge) as well, since I am dealing with the same safety hazard as the models listed in the national recall. the rear view camera has only worked sporadically the last few years. Ford has issued recalls for this but not for my vehicle. Dangerous backing out for my family and other drivers.

3 times in the past 4 days my trunk has opened while the car has been turned off. Thankfully not while I was driving. Not Yet anyway. The doors have unlocked on their own while driving and parked. And the keypad light stays on all the time. There has been no warning lights on the dashboard. It is a safety concern, cause if it did that while driving (I’ve heard of others this has happened to) things can fly out of the trunk and cause someone to wreck. Or my car could get stolen. It’s at a ford dealership now, they’ve had it for 28 hrs and still don’t know what’s wrong with it or how to fix it. I’ve read where this has happened to many ford vehicles and no one has answers nor how to fix it. Which that makes no sense to me. I don’t understand how this isn’t already a safety recall. And what are people like me suppose to do, drive around and hope for the best since even the ford dealership apparently can’t fix it. So please help!!

Back up camera stops working while in the middle of backing up, sometimes it does not work at all.

The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was 161,000.

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that cylinder #4 was misfiring and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.

My trunk.just randomly opens also ever time I use my remote it will open the latch just clicks if I start the car the trunk opens many many times if I get in super quick close the doors and lock the doors it will stay closed this is not correct Ford just tells you to bring it in and nothing ever happens this is ongoing for most of the escapes fusions focus newer and alder mine is a 2015 fusion 1.5 eco boost This really needs to be fixed there’s to many other problems these cars have bad transmission using coolant cracked blocks electric power steering growling like mine does just stinks spend good money for all these problems

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the PUSH to START button was pressed; however, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the PUSH to START button needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was out of warranty and offered no additional assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

When pressing the start/stop button for the engine, the plastic chrome retaining ring collapsed. This resulted in the entire start/stop switch assembly falling into the dashboard. Causing an issue with turning off and on the engine, as per manufacturer guidelines and in a safe manner. Replacement of the entire switch unit is required.

multiple warning lights come off and on while driving. When they come on steering becomes difficult. no one can determine the cause. there have bene multiple reports by others with this same make/model of happening to them and no mechanics nor dealership have been able to identify the cause

Battery dies suddenly. No crank no start.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a turn, the horn inadvertently activated. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE FORD DEALER FOR SERVICE AS THE CAR'S BLUETOOTH WOULDN'T PAIR TO MY CELL PHONE. THE ISSUE BEGAN ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE APIM MODULE NEEDS REPLACING. THE MODULE IS IMPORTANT FOR HANDS FREE COMMUNICATION WHILE DRIVING.

THE ENTIRE CENTER CONSOLE INSTRUMENT PANEL STOPS WORKING. THE RADIO WILL NOT WORK AND THE CLIMATE CONTROL AND REAR DEFROSTER WILL NOT WORK. I AM UNABLE TO DEFROST THE WINDOWS OR KEEP THE ENTIRE CABIN OF THE CAR WARM. IT FIRST HAPPENED THIS MORNING WHEN I WAS HEADED TO WORK. I DROVE THE CAR FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE, AND EVERYTHING STOPPED WORKING. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR DOWN AND RESTARTED IT, EVERYTHING WORKED FOR APPROXIMATELY A MINUTE BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN AGAIN.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY DASH INFORMED ME THAT MY POWER STEERING MODULE FAILED, AND I HAD TO PULL OVER BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING WAS NO LONGER WORKING. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHO MISDIAGNOSED IT AS A BATTERY ISSUE. AFTER GETTING A NEW BATTERY THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. I NOW HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE POWER STEERING WHICH WILL COST ME 3K.

CAR WON'T CRANK. WARNING SIGN SAYS DIMMING LIGHTS.

THE CONNECTOR TO THE FRONT HEATED AND COOLED SEAT MODULE NEARLY CAUGHT FIRE, WITHOUT ANY INTERVENTION OR ALTERATION.

THE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN AND THERE IS NO POWER AT ALL TO ANY SYSTEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE LAST TIME THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER AND THOUGHT THAT FIXED IT. BUT IT DIED AGAIN LAST WEEK.

THE DOOR LATCH OF THE REAR LEFT DOOR WON'T LATCH. I AM UNABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR (DOOR STAYS OPEN, UNLOCKED). I TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES TO SHUT THE DOOR CLOSED UNSUCCESSFULLY. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY THIS MORNING WHEN I WENT AND OPENED THE DOOR, BUT WHEN I TRIED TO CLOSE I NOTICE THE DOOR STAYS LOOSE OPEN.

THE SYNC INTOUCH SYSTEM IN MY 2015 FORD FUSION IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN I GO TO MY CLIMATE SETTING IT STATES TEMPORARY LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE CLIMATE SYSTEM. I'M NOT ABLE TO TURN MY VOLUME ON OR OFF/UP OR DOWN, OR CHANGE THE RADIO STATION. I'M ALSO NOT ABLE TO ROLL DOWN MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW. THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHETHER I'M STATIONARY OR DRIVING. *TR

MILEAGE OF CAR IS 53,100. WIFE (DRIVER) REPORTED THAT WHILE DRIVING IN NORMAL TRAFFIC AT NIGHT, THE CAR LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER: LIGHTS, MOTOR FUNCTION, RADIO, ETC. SHE TURNED ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND CAME TO A STOP. SHE TURNED THE KEY TO RESTART AND CAR FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. I CHECKED THE CAR THE FOLLOWING DAY AND NO PROBLEMS DETECTED.

THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAHL FORD DAVENPORT (1310 E KIMBERLY RD, DAVENPORT, IA 52807, (563) 391-2600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT PREVIOUSLY THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN INCLUDED IN A FRONT END COLLISION HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE TO DEPLOY MAY HAVE BEEN DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE ORC MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
