I HAVE A MAJOR PAINT DEFECT, BUBBLING OR BLISTERING UNDER THE PAINT ON MY ALUMINUM HOOD. A FACTORY DEFECT, WHICH FORD HAS BEEN AWARE SINCE 2004 AND CONTINUED TO SELL ALUMINUM HOODS UNTIL 2013. *TR

I HAVE THIS BUBBLING/ PEELING OF PAINT ON THE HOOD RIGHT WHERE THE HOOD STARTS TO WRAP UNDER IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR TOWARDS THE ENGINE. THERE'S A TSB OUT ON THIS BUT WHY SHOULD FORD OWNERS PAY FOR FORDS MISTAKE AND I ALSO SEEN A LOT OF FORUMS WITH OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
BUBBLING/CHIPPING UNDER PAINT ON HOOD WHERE THE UNDERSIDE MEETS THE TOP PART. (05 FORD MUSTANG GT). *TR
THE CLEAR COAT IS BUBBLING/POPPING OFF ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FENDER. WATER GETS UNDER THE CLEAR COAT AND PULLS IT EVEN FARTHER AWAY FROM THE PAINT. *TR
KNOWN HOOD CORROSION (I COULDN'T SELECT HOOD IN "AFFECTED PARTS) ISSUE RE: FORD TSB 6-25-15 - BREAKING THROUGH PAINT AT THIS POINT AND SEVERAL DIFFERENT SPOTS ON THE HOOD. APPARENTLY CLASS ACTION SUIT HAS BEEN FILED. FORD REFUSES TO PAY FOR REPAIR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARK HE NOTICED THAT WATER HAD ACCUMULATED ON THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THERE WERE HOLES ON THE LINER IN BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE HOOD THAT CAUSED THE WATER TO LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE. THE GAUGES ON INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE WIRES THAT LEAD TO THE SPEAKERS WERE DAMAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED WATER WOULD LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE WHENEVER IT WOULD RAIN. THE LEAK WAS SO SEVERE THAT WATER WOULD ENTER AND BUILD UP ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARD. IN ADDITION, WATER WAS DRAINING DIRECTLY INTO THE FUSE BOX AND CAUSING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITHIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
THE MORNING AFTER A RAIN STORM WHEN PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY WATER STARTED TO POUR IN BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX AND PASSENGER AIR BIG AREA AND ONTO THE FLOOR. IT WAS ABOUT 1 OR 2 INCHES OF WATER ALL TOGETHER. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THE FORD KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND STILL HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX IT. IT EFFECTS ALL FORD MUSTANGS FROM 2005 THROUGH 2008. THEY HAVE A TSB 07-14-6 WHICH DESCRIBES THE PROBLEM AND STATES HOW TO FIX IT. *TR
2005 FORD MUSTANG LEAKING WHEN IT RAINS. I HAVE READ PLENTY OF FORMS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM THAT NO ONE KNOWS WHY OR HOW. IF THIS IS NOT CORRECTED IT COULD CAUSE HEALTH PROBLEMS DUE TO MILDEW OR FIRE DUE TO THE MOISTURE. *TR
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A NEW 05 FORD MUSTANG GT, IN THE STATE OF NH PURCHASED FROM TILTON FORD. I HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT THE ALUMINUM HOOD IS OXIDIZING AND THE PAINT IS THEREFORE SEPARATING FROM THE METAL. THE RESULTING DAMAGE ON THE HOOD IS PAINT FALLING AWAY, EXPOSING THE ALUMINUM. THIS SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING ON AN AIRCRAFT OR A PROPERLY PAINTED AUTO SUCH AS MINE. I HAVE PURSUED THIS PROBLEM WITH MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND FORD VIA THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE; BOTH TELL ME THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM AND THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO. FIRST, I HAVE ONLY OWNED FORD VEHICLES- MOSTLY NEW AND CAN PROVE THIS SHOULD IT MATTER AS A LOYAL CLIENT. SECOND, I HAVE KEPT MY VEHICLE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE THIS CLAIM. THIRD, THE ONLY PAINT ISSUE IS ON THE ALUMINUM HOOD, NOT OTHER SECTIONS OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE DONE PLENTY OF RESEARCH AND HAVE SEVERAL ESTIMATES AND EVEN SPOKE TO AN AIRCRAFT PERSON WHO AGREES, THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN, FORD SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS. I DESIRE A RESPONSE WHICH WILL ADDRESS THIS CONCERN, BE IT PICTURES FROM A DEALERSHIP AS PART OF AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE DEFECT OF MY ALUMINUM HOOD OR ITS REPLACEMENT. AS A LOYAL FORD CUSTOMER AND ADVOCATE, IT SEEMS GOOD BUSINESS TO SINCERELY ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND WORK WITH ME IN THE REPAIR OF WHAT IS CLEARLY A FORD ISSUE AS IT RELATES TO THE USE OF ALUMINUM AS A METAL AND ITS SUBSEQUENT PAINTING AS A HOOD ON THE MUSTANG. THE RESULTING DAMAGE ON MY VEHICLE'S HOOD IS NOT CHIPPING AND DOES NOT FALL UNDER NORMAL WEAR OR A RESULT OF USE/TIME BUT THE OXIDATION AND LOSS OF PAINT ON MY HOOD AS A DIRECT RESULT OF MANUFACTURE/DESIGN. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE RESPONSE FROM A COMPANY THAT I THOUGHT CARED AND PRODUCED HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS BOTH AT THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL LEVEL. 2005 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE. SEVERE WATER LEAKAGE OCCURRING IN PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AND REAR AREAS. WATER LEAKS INTO A COMPARTMENT THAT SURROUNDS THE CABIN AIR FILTER AND THEN BLOWS IN THROUGH THE CABIN AIRWAY AND LEAKS OUT BELOW THE GLOVE BOX. THIS HAS SEVERELY DAMAGED CARPETING AND CAUSES MOLD AND MILDEW TO FORM. VERY BAD FOR ANYONE WHO BREATHS THIS IN WHILE TRAVELING IN THE VEHICLE. CURRENTLY TRYING TO SEAL WITH NO LUCK AND SEE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. OCCURS WHENEVER VEHICLE IS LEFT OUTSIDE IN RAIN. THE FIRST 5 1/2 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP THE VEHICLE WAS GARAGE KEPT. THE PAINT ON THE FRONT EDGE OF THE HOOD IS BUBBLING. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS OXIDATION AND THEY WERE AWARE IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 MUSTANG. HOWEVER I WAS TOLD BY AN EMPLOYEE OF ANOTHER DEALERSHIP THAT IS WAS NOT OXIDATION BUT AN INITIAL POOR PAINT JOB. HOWEVER, I AM NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. MY CAR IS KEPT IN A GARAGE AT NIGHT AND DURING THE DAY WHILE AT WORK. IT NEVER SITS OUT IN THE SUN OR RAIN. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE IS NO RECALL BECAUSE THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS FROM OWNERS. THAT CANNOT BE TRUE BECAUSE THE INTERNET IS FULL OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST $895 TO PAINT THE WHOLE HOOD AND IT WOULD HAVE A LIFETIME GUARANTY. I REFUSED TO PAY THAT AMOUNT AND THEY REDUCED IT DOWN TO $695. BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A RENTAL AS IT WOULD TAKE 2 DAYS TO PAINT. I REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL AND NEGOTIATED FOR A FREE RENTAL. I AM GETTING 2 MORE ESTIMATES. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE. WITHOUT WARNING THE TOP JAMMED ABOUT A 1/4 OF THE WAY GOING UP. IT APPEARS THE LEFT SIDE TORSION BAR SNAPPED CAUSING THE WEIGHT OF THE TOP TO SHIFT TO THE RIGHT AND BENT THE RIGHT SIDE FRAME. I CAN NOT PUT THE WINDOWS UP BECAUSE THE WHOLE TOP IS NOW OUT OF ALIGNMENT. VEHICLE IS STORED ALL WINTER LONG AND HAS LESS THAN 15,000 MILES ON IT. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP FRAME IS A POOR DESIGN. I BROUGHT IT TO 3 PLACES TO BE LOOKED AT AND HAVE BEEN TOLD FROM ALL 3 PLACES THAT THIS IS AN ON GOING ISSUE WITH THE 2005 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE TOPS. I DO NOT SEE THAT A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED BUT HAVE SEEN SOME TSB. I FEEL THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE TO PRODUCE VEHICLES WITHOUT MECHANICAL FLAWS AND USE QUALITY PARTS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY NEEDS TO STEP UP TO REPAIR THEM WITHOUT FINANCIAL BURDEN ON THE CONSUMER WHEN THEY ARE EXPOSED. *TR
CONVERTIBLE TOP FAILURE AT 28,000 MILES. CAR IS NOT SAFE TO OPERATE ON HIGHWAYS AFTER CONVERTIBLE TOP FAILURE. COMMON PROBLEM ON 2005 MUSTANGS. TOP BECOMES STUCK AT HALF UP POSITION. THIS OBSTRUCTS VISION IN REAR-VIEW MIRROR, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE LANES SAFELY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER IT WOULD RAIN, WATER WOULD LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE FROM THE PASSENGERS SIDE. ALSO, WHEN DRIVING IN RAINY WEATHER OR THROUGH A PUDDLE, WATER WOULD ENTER THE VEHICLE AND INTO THE FUSE BOX. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 20,000.
1. BEGINNING AT APPROXIMATELY APRIL, 2008, MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT BEGAN TO LEAK WATER INSIDE THE CABIN IN THE PASSENGER FOOTWELL WHENEVER IT RAINED HARD OR SNOWED. 2. THE FAILURE IS A GROMMET THAT CLOGS UP UNDERNEATH THE CABIN AIR FILTER. IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO REACH UNLESS YOU'RE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. 3. THE FORD DEALER HAS CLEARED OUT THE AREA AROUND THE GROMMET, BUT IT IS A CONSTANTLY RECURRING PROBLEM THAT FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB FOR, BUT THEY HAVEN'T ISSUED A RECALL FOR SINCE IT USUALLY HAPPENS AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES. I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR TO MAKE CUSTOMERS PAY FOR A PROBLEM LIKE THIS THAT FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT SINCE 2005. *TR
I PURCHASED IN 2007 A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. AFTER THE DOWNPOURING OF RAIN ON WEDNESDAY 9/29 NIGHT AND THURSDAY 9/30 MORNING I EXPERIENCED WATER POURING INTO MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG VEHICLE WHEN ON MY WAY TO WORK UNDER THE DASH BOARD AND IN CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE FUSE PANEL ON THE PASSENGER FOOT WELL. I WAS ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THERE HAS BEEN OTHER 2005 MUSTANGS EXPERIENCING THE SAME SYSTEMS. THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RECALL. *TR
I HAVE EXPERIENCED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WATER POURING INTO THE VEHICLE UNDER THE DASH BOARD AND IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE FUSE PANEL ON THE PASSENGER FOOT WELL. THE DEALER HAS INDICATED THAT THE AIR INTAKE TO THE CABIN AIR UNIT IS ALSO CONNECTED THE DRAIN LINES THAT DRAIN WATER FROM THE HOOD COWL. WHEN DEBRIS FROM TREES, BUSHES AND SHRUBS FINDS IT'S WAY ONTO THE HOOD COWL IT GETS INTO THE DRAIN LINES (DUE TO POOR DESIGN AND LACK OF ANY TYPE OF FILTER) WITH ANY RAIN. THE RAIN WASHES DEBRIS INTO THE DRAIN LINES WHICH THEN BACKS UP AS THE LINE FILLS INTO THE CABIN AIR UNIT. MY DEALER HAS TOLD ME THE BEST WAY TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING IS TO NOT PARK UNDER TREES. THEY DID NOT TELL ME THAT WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. AN INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS MANY PEOPLE WITH A SIMILAR PROBLEM ON THE MODEL YEAR AND LATER YEARS. A TSB EXISTS ON THIS PROBLEM. *TR
