The passenger side seat belt light comes on when someone is sitting in the passenger seat. We have had to McGrath Honda in St Charles IL, but they say there is no recall. First time they did a diagnostic and said nothing wrong. Still came on sporadically. Took back, McGrath said they could do a diagnostic but it would cost $159. I said, you already did that. Why not change the sensor. They said we have a service bulletin that states it may be a problem, but you will have to pay to fix. I said it does not come on all the time, so obviously it is a Honda problem. Left the dealership. That was three months ago. It has started coming on again. This is ridiculous. Honda has a seat belt safety issue and refuse to address it. What can be done? Do I need to contact the Consumer Protection Agency in Illinois or the National Safety and Transportation board?

The vehicle was moving forward at 10 mph and went over a manhole cover that was protruding 4 inches out of the ground that was on the driver’s side. The manhole cover came in contact with the underside of the car and set the front driver’s side airbag off.
My 2020 Honda Civic's passenger seat weight sensor failed due to an internal electrical failure. This is an officially diagnosed issue from a Honda Dealership. This put's my passenger's at risk as the airbags will not deploy due to the sensor not reading the passenger's weight. The vehicle has not been in an accident that would have caused this sensor to fail. On 10/16 the SRS light (reading airbag system problem) first showed while driving. The light is still on.

On January of 2024 I received a letter from Honda informing me that my vehicle was affected by a recall regardimg a seat sensor of the airbag. I contacted the dealership to get the recall fixed because my vehicle is used for a car rental business and with the recall I am not able to operate the vehicle for rental purposes. I was told by my local dealer that if my dash oard light is not on they cannot fix it. I called several times for several months, the last time being today, December 09, 2024. Basically, I received the letter to notify me of tje recall, bit the dealer will not fix it. The recall description is provided below. In a Walmart parking lot I bumped into a curb stone with the left front tire at low speed (5 mph?). The passanger side air bag went off and blew out the windhield. I do not believe the air bag should have deployed at such a low speed. There was no damage to the car body. Total cost for replacing the air bag, windshield and both front seat belts was around $3,500.
The passenger airbag deployed while I was driving at 5mph. Which no crash
I was driving and the passenger air exploded.
I hit a cow going 55mph on a state highway, and my airbags did not deploy.
Driving at roughly 6mph in a parking lot when my passenger side airbag randomly deployed. Resulted in shattered windshield, damage to dash, seat belts not working properly. Vehicle was not and has not been in any accident. No damage to the vehicle.
OUR PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG DOES NOT WORK WHEN I SIT IN THE SEAT. OUR HONDA DEALER HAS SAID THERE COMPUTER DOES NOT SEE A PROBLEM WE DETERMINED THAT I MAY NOT MEET THE WEIGHT ALLOWANCE AS I WEIGH ABOUT 88-90 LBS. WE HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR COMPANY AND WERE TOLD THEY WOULD GET BACK TO US BUT THAT WAS NEARLY A MONTH AGO.. ALL OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE SAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT DID NOT EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM AND WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED CLEAR INFORMATION AS TO WHAT THE WEIGHT ALLOWANCE IS FOR THIS CAR. WHEN I SIT IN THE SEAT, THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT HONDA'S APPARENT INDIFFERENCE AS WELL AS THE LACK OF SAFETY I FEEL WHEN SITTING IN THAT SEAT. PLEASE LET ME KN OW IF YOU CAN FOLLOW UP ON THIS CONCERN FOR ME. THANK YOU.
HONDA DEALER AND HONDA USA TELL ME THAT MY WIFE (95LBS) IS NOT HEAVY ENOUGH TO ACTIVATE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND MAKE THE DASH INDICATOR GO OUT. THE OWNERS MANUAL SAYS (PG47) THAT THE WEIGHT TO ACTIVATE THE AIR BAG IS 65LBS. IS THIS A HONDA PROBLEM ?
