TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA FIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING AND ONLY THE HIGH BEAMS WERE WORKING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH MANUFACTURER AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. WAS DRIVING MY HONDA FIT 2007 LAST NIGHT WHEN MY LOW BEAMS SUDDENLY WENT OUT. I HAD ONLY MY HIGH BEAMS AND HAD TO DRIVE HOME WITH PEOPLE FLASHING THEIR HIGH BEAMS AT ME. I WENT TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE TO GET NEW FUSES TO SEE IF THIS WOULD HELP THE PROBLEM AND I REPLACED THEM BUT THE FUSES WERE FINE. WENT ONTO THE COMPUTER TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND NUMEROUS INCIDENTS WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO 2007 HONDA FITS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS AND EXPENSIVE SITUATION IF I HAVE TO PAY UPWARDS OF 300.00 TO REPAIR? *TR
DRIVING HOME IN THE EVENING, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2007 HONDA FIT SPORT SUDDENLY FAILED FOR NO APPARENT REASON GIVING ME NO FORWARD VISION ON A VERY DARK HIGHWAY WHILE TRAVELING AT 60 MPH. IN ORDER TO GET MY CAR HOME I FOUND I HAD HIGH BEAMS ONLY THEREFORE NO CHOICE BUT TO USE THEM TO GET HOME WHICH WAS BLINDING ONCOMING TRAFFIC AS THEY CONTINUOUSLY FLASHED ME. I HAD RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THIS WAS A VERY COMMON ISSUE ON MY MODEL AND YEAR AND THAT AN INVESTIGATION WAS PUT IN MOTION. I BROUGHT THIS INFORMATION IN THE FORM OF PRINTOUTS TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR TO BE REPAIRED. MY HONDA DEALER CHARGED ME AN $80 "DIAGNOSTIC FEE" TO TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME THAT THE WIRING IN A HARNESS TO THE LOW BEAM SWITCH HAD FAILED DUE TO "CORROSION AND MELTING WIRE FROM OVERHEATING" THEY RESPONDED THAT IT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO REWIRE THE HARNESS CONNECTOR AND REPLACE THE SWITCH TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AN ALMOST $300 DOLLAR REPAIR. WHEN I CONFRONTED THEM ABOUT THE OBVIOUS PROBLEM OR DESIGN FLAW IN THE VEHICLE THEY RESPONDED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT AND REQUIRED THE FULL PRICE OF THE WORK. AT THE TIME OF BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, A THURSDAY, THEIR "WIRING TECH WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE THAT DAY AND TO BRING THE CAR BACK ON THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY FORCING ME TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PRACTICE OF USING MY HIGH BEAMS ONLY AS I HAVE NO OTHER CAR AND MY JOB REQUIRES ME TO DRIVE HOME AT NIGHT OFTEN. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED IT'S NOT THE BULB THAT'S BLOWING, BUT IT'S SOMETHING ELECTRICAL THAT'S CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER REGARDING THE HEAD LIGHT AND THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE NEEDS THE COMBINATION SWITCH AND CONNECTOR REPLACED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT ABOUT THE RECALL FOR THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS (06E023000) BUT THE RECALL WAS FOR THE 2006 HONDA CIVIC AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE RECALL TO SEE IF THE VEHICLE CAN BE REPAIRED UNDER THE SAME RECALL FOR THE HONDA CIVIC, BUT THE MANUFACTURER STATED THEIR IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD EXTEND THE RECALL FOR THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER HAS ALREADY RECOGNIZED THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE LOW BEAMS AND FOG LIGHTS SUDDENLY WENT. I PULLED UP TO A GAS STATION AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. WHEN I WENT STARTED THE ENGINE AND TURNED WENT TO TURN THE LIGHTS BACK ON NOTHING HAPPENED. THEY HAVEN'T WORKED SINCE. THE HIGH-BEAMS ARE UNAFFECTED. BULBS AND FUSES WERE TESTED BUT BOTH WERE FINE. *TR

SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING THE LOW BEAMS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE. IMMEDIATELY, THE HIGH BEAMS WERE ENGAGED TO CONTINUE IN TRAVEL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL RELATED TO THE DEFECT. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS AND FOGLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING AT THE SAME TIME. HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS STILL WORK. REPLACING BULBS DID NOT HELP. ALL FUSES ARE FINE. DEALER TELLS ME TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWITCH AND POSSIBLY WIRING. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 59,000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA FIT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH, BOTH LOW BEAM LIGHTS FAILED. THE CONTACT HAD TO ENGAGE THE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE CLUSTER BOARD PANEL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HIS INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE MASTER LIGHT SWITCH FOR THE LOW BEAMS LIGHTS WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN SIX MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,480 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
HEADLIGHT FAILURE OCCURRING FREQUENTLY. I HAVE HAD TO CHANGE MY HEADLIGHTS 6 TIMES IN THE PAST 3 YEARS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO HONDA AND THEY JUST REPLACE THE BULB WITHOUT LOOKING FOR THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. USUALLY IT IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE LIGHT BULB, BUT I HAVE HAD THE PASSENGER ONE GO OUT AS WELL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE OPEN GROUND WIRE FOR THE LOW BEAM HAD CORRODED WHICH CAUSED THE HEADLIGHT FAILURE AND SHE NEEDED TO HAVE THE COMBINATION SWITCH REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. SHE WAS ADVISED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE 62,236.

THIS APPLIES TO ALL ACCORD COUPE AND SEDANS WITH LED TAIL LIGHTS MODEL LX EX VP SE SITED TO DATE. HEADLIGHTS ARE OVERLY BRIGHT AND MISADJUSTED ALSO CAUSING BLINDING OF OTHER VEHICLES AND PEDESTRIANS. I WAS FOLLOWING BEHIND A NEW 2007 HONDA ACCORD WITH THE NEW LED BRAKE LIGHTS AT NIGHT. WHEN THE DRIVER STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND LEDS ARE SO BRIGHT THAT IT GAVE ME INSTANT EYE STRAIN PAIN IN MY EYES. I ALSO COULD NOT SEE AROUND THE VEHICLE OR TO THE SIDES. THOSE LEDS ARE WAY TOO BRIGHT AND ARE BLINDING AT NIGHT. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTICED THE SAME THING. EVEN DURING THE DAY, THEY ARE ANNOYING AT BEST. *NM
