The contact owns a 2018 Land Rover Discovery. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic and the engine sensor was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the to the local mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was later taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the timing chain was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 110,000.
Low coolant warning came on. Topped off coolant with no leak visible under vehicle. Warning came back a week later. And leak was now visible. Vehicle towed to dealer and discovered bad water pump and hoses. Dealer cannot fix vehicle for last 5 weeks due to back ordered heater manifold tube. Under 45k miles and unusable. Dealer advised leak on belts requires them to be replaced. No global ETA on parts.
