Incident Summary: On February 14, 2026, at an automatic conveyor car wash, my Nissan vehicle would not shift into neutral while in motion on the conveyor belt. It stayed in drive/reverse, creating a hazard as it could resist conveyor movement or cause unintended acceleration/reverse. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Transmission shifter/gear selection system (likely electronic shift-by-wire or CVT controls) prevented shift to neutral while vehicle was in low-speed motion. This seems due to a software safety interlock blocking neutral during movement, similar to reported Nissan issues (e.g., Rogue/Pathfinder/Ariya models requiring hold procedures or "neutral hold mode"). Vehicle available for inspection and in my possession, Knoxville TN). How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Inability to shift to neutral prevented free rolling on conveyor, risking resistance, jerky movement, hopping off track, collision with mechanism/other vehicles, or rear-end incidents. Hazard to me (driver) and car wash attendants/customers. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? UNKNOWN — Incident today; not yet diagnosed/reproduced at dealer. Similar owner complaints noted in forums (difficulty shifting to neutral at car washes due to safety features). Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? UNKNOWN — No inspections yet by Nissan, police (no crash), insurance, or others. No damage occurred. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lamps, messages, noises, or symptoms prior. Shifter worked normally idle (shifted to neutral after initial exit), but failed again in motion—likely motion-related interlock.

While driving on the interstate at normal highway speed, the sunroof of my 2022 Nissan Rogue SV AWD suddenly shattered and exploded without any warning or visible impact. The noise was extremely loud. The weather was clear, and there were no vehicles or objects nearby that could have caused the breakage. It was extremely scary. This was a completely spontaneous failure, and I am very concerned about the safety implications, especially if the interior sunroof cover had been open. I’m researching and found similar complaints about Nissan vehicles and sunroofs suddenly shattering for no reason. This incident needs to be investigated for possible defects in the sunroof glass or design. I have photo evidence and can provide additional details upon request. The vehicle has not yet been inspected.

Electro hydraulic coupling seal leak in rear. Unable to drive vehicle due to risk of damage to rear hydraulics. Confirmed by dealership and separate mechanic. No warning lights to indicate damage or necessity of immediate attention.

There is a weird sound that comes on after a few minutes of starting the car that appears to come from under the hood on the right side. The touchscreen will go black and then just pop back up. Apple car play stopped working after the screen went black. The traction control light randomly pops up. There are times when the car is in motion and it feels like it wants to stall but just lags then resumes as normal. I took the car in for it's routine oil change and regular check up to the dealership where I purchased the car and was informed upon their completion that a oil pressure warning light came on. The mechanics informed me that I'll need to take it to the Nissan dealership to address this issue due to the warranty as well as the other engine recall. I contacted the dealership to get this scheduled. The Nissan dealership informed me that they will not be addressing the recall issue that I received in the mail. I then asked what happens if the car blows up then and was informed that, that shouldn't happen and if it does well then I guess you'll have a case. I informed him that it has been doing weird things and making a weird sound under the hood. He stated that he would call me back regarding my concerns but he didn't.

We keep our car in an enclosed garage and when parking in the garage there is a large build up of gas/exhaust smell. The smell is sickening and enters the house whenever we open the entry door. We bought the car in September 2022 and brought it to the dealership in January 2023 where they verified the problem but didn’t have any solution. We received a letter from Nissan (NT/23-025) acknowledging the problem. The did nothing nor communicated we us so we brought it back in on January 2024 and they ordered parts and serviced on Feb 21/24. Back in to dealership on Mar 4,2024; April 3, 2024; April 5, 2024. Then May 8, 2024 Nissan engineers investigated and replaced another part. Still have odor problem.

Oil pan and plug. Of the last 3 oil changes we are on our 2nd replacement for the oil pan & plug. So 2 of the 3 times they had to be replaced. Ridiculous! Never had this problem in 40 years of driving all kinds of vehicles.

The front sunroof on a 2022 Nissan Rogue Platinum blew out while traveling on highway at normal speed. There were no warnings. The car dealership has ordered replacement parts to repair the sunroof glass. They said they had not heard of this and tried to blame it on a rock but the remaining glass is at an upward tilt. It was taped that day.

After driving the vehicle, we’ll notice a gas smell coming from the car when parked in the garage. There is no leak or any issues with the vehicle running. Sometimes the odor is minimal and sometimes very strong. Nissan has reported awareness of this and is looking for a fix.

Smell of gasoline inside my car while driving and when parked inside my garage .Brought to the dealer and said to me that the are many car owners of the same model who are complaining of the same problem but they cannot fixed it at this time and will just call me if they will find solution of the problem but until now the dealer haven't call me back.The problem is getting worse and it is a significant fire hazard in my car and also in my garage.

Unknown Very strong gas smell inside the vehicle and outside the vehicle and under hood. This started with less the 4000 miles on it and it is just over 6200 miles at this time. I brought it to local nissan dealer lia nissan of Saratoga and was advised they can not find anything wrong with it and they can not do anything without a recall. So I am driving a vehicle around with excessive gas smell inside and out. This seems dangerous to me. I did express my concern to both the dealership and nissan themselves and they still refuse to do anything. I asked what happens if I am in an accident and my car starts on fore or if I am driving and my car starts on fire. The service recep. Said well it looks like you will have a law suit. So don't think they realize this is not good. Breathing in gas is a health issue and this should be addressed and should not be ignored. These vehicles had gas issues the year prior so why isn't this a concern for nissan. This is a new vehicle smelling gas is a hazard and puts myself, my family and people driving around me at risk. After 9 months of owning this car. When I drive for 20 or so miles and turn the vehicle off for a short period then restart I smell gas and fumes make me sick and my eyes water at times. The dealer found nothing wrong. Nissan corporate got involved after I emailed them. Their engineering tech confirmed it was happening.

Our car was in the garage. I opened the trunk not using remote opener, but from outside. I was taking groceries out. I was leaning in and picking up bags when I noticed that trunk door was coming down. I tried to move quickly out of the way and hit my left side of my forehead. Above my eye. As a result I have a black and blue under my eye and a bump on my forehead and now several days of headaches. So, what is happening is that car trunk door when it was opening reached or hit the top of the garage. That caused it to start coming down immediately. There is no sensor to see if there is something in the way. Similar to garage door where there a sensor that something is in the way and it will stop. We have a small video of what happens. I do not feel safe in my new car. There’s a problem with the turbo\acceleration. It won’t accelerate for 2–3 seconds when I push the gas. And when it does it jumps forward fairly fast. If I’m at a stop and I’m ready to cross and I take my foot off the break and the car is going like 1 mile an hour… then press the gas… it’s as if it’s in neutral. The car won’t move forward for 2-3 seconds. It’s going to get me into an accident. For example, If I am at an intersection, and I cross and a car fails to stop at the stop sign… And I see them coming towards my car… I will not be able to move out of the way because of the acceleration problem. Or if I’m on the highway and am slowing down due to treaffic ahead, and the car behind me doesn’t see and slams on their breaks and I see and hear it and look to my left and see no cars and I want to speed up into the left to avoid being hit by this car behind me…. My car will not move and I will get hit anyway. I have a five year old son. I do not feel that he and I are safe in this car. Are all these new Rogues like this????? If so, it needs to be fixed immediately!! Please help!!!
