Chronological view of owner reports
When initially starting the vehicle, when at a complete stop, the vehicle lags when pressing the accelerator. It’s almost as if the vehicle doesn’t recognize that I’m pressing it at all and I have to reset my foot and start the process over. There is a slight incline hill that has a stop sign that I come to everyday after work and this happens maybe twice a week.
Vehicle consistently exhibits throttle lag from a stop. It is almost like the engine is not responding to the throttle input. This condition is unsafe when pulling into oncoming traffic as the vehicle does not accelerate and then lurches out into traffic as it finally responds to the throttle input
Throttle hesitation from a stop, when pressing the accelerator truck does not move then suddenly will accelerate. This can cause delay when pulling in or out of intersections / traffic making it a safety hazard as the driver is not in control of the vehicle as it is random when it occurs. Multiple other vehicle owners of the same make model of this year and others of the same generation have made the complaint and nothing has been done to solve this issue.
There is acceleration lag with my truck. Primarily happens when pulling into traffic which dangerously slows the vehicle down in traffic.
My vehicle is subject to multiple recalls, including a serious safety recall. On November 6, 2025, Toyota issued NHTSA Safety Recall 25V767 stating that the engine may stall during driving, creating a crash risk. As of today, no repair remedy has been made available. Because of this safety risk, I stopped driving the vehicle. The issue has not occurred because I discontinued use out of safety concerns. An earlier recall, NHTSA Recall 25V322 issued on May 15, 2025 regarding reverse lamps becoming inoperable, also remains unresolved with no available remedy. Toyota acknowledged the safety concern by authorizing a rental vehicle. I am concerned about the lack of a repair timeline and the safety of this vehicle.
There radio knob continually falls offs. It is located on the driver side and falls off almost every time turned. As such it has fallen under the pedals and/or my foot which causes a distraction and/or the need to move suddenly move my foot. This can be a hazard especially when braking.
A. I had a warning light and had a distorted image in surround view. Mid-March 2025 B. Wend dealership and they replaced the ECU related to backup camera. March 26, 2025 C. After ECU replacemenet, I have two issues 1. backup camara hitch line is not on center 2. parking line on surround view is distorted. Parking line is on straight but displayed bent line. Went the dealership. They said no issue was found. I explained the anomaly. they acknowleded the distorted image but didn't think as an issue. - Reached out Toyota cooperation and shared the image which shows distorted image. D. Case manager organized repair work with the dealer ship and visited on Sep. 19 2025 - Dealership diagnosed no issue. I have touble for parking and connecting trailer due to the issue. I couldn't make the dealership to recognize this as an issue even with help from toyota cooperation.
This sunroof has a rattle that will not stop. I have taken it to a Toyota Dealer twice, and was told this was a known issue and will do what they can to help with the rattle. The sunroof shakes and rattles like glass hitting the tracks, or glass hitting metal when driving down the road. I am afraid one bump will shatter the glass. Will be returning to the dealership for a third time today to see if it can be fixed.
Driving down the road, my sunroof exploded. Sun shade was pulled so no injury. Dealer would not diagnose other than saying glass just doesn’t explode so must have been hit by something. I don’t believe that is the case. Easily as likely a manufacturer defect from the factory. I have had the truck for less than a year with 11000 miles
UNKNOWN:Urgent Safety Concern – Speedometer Visibility Issue in 2024 Toyota Tundra To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally raise a significant safety concern regarding the plastic speedometer cover on the 2024 Toyota Tundra. The material used for the speedometer screen is extremely prone to scratching, even under normal driving conditions. Despite using my vehicle exclusively for regular commuting, fine dust and routine cleaning have progressively worsened the visibility of the speedometer display. This issue is not just cosmetic—it is a growing safety hazard. The accumulation of scratches significantly reduces the clarity of speed readings, making it difficult to accurately monitor speed while driving. This can lead to unintended speeding, difficulty maintaining safe driving speeds, and an increased risk of accidents. Given that this problem is occurring under normal use, it is reasonable to assume that other Tundra owners will face similar issues over time, potentially leading to widespread safety concerns. I strongly urge Toyota to investigate this issue immediately and consider a recall or design modification to prevent further degradation of the speedometer visibility. Ensuring that drivers have a clear and unobstructed view of their speed is critical for road safety. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
This has happened a few times. I go to pull out of a parking lot needing to cross traffic and the truck hesitates and then feels like it punches it across the intersection. I’ve had people have to slam on their brakes thinking I just stalled in the middle. Should have been able to make it with no incident but I just avoid trying to cross quickly now.
2024 tundra crew max hybrid limited off road, since day one of purchase of this vehicle I have had excessive wind noise in the windows on the driver and passenger side. From what I understand many people are having the same problem with the tundras. Toyota dealership tried to solve the remedy by putting insulation in the rubber seals in the corners it quieted it down a little bit but it’s still beyond what a $75,000 vehicle should sound like while driving 45 miles and above an hour it’s very annoying to hear other cars and traffic in this this vehicle. The seals around the windows and the door jams are faulty and need to be addressed. Thank you for your time
Sun Roof shattered while driving on interstate.
Big Hesitation on the throttle response when accelerating, so much so as almost causing accident due to delay from hitting gas pedal to acceleration
Multi-Media Center, displays a programmed promo for the program "Experience Drive Connect"; while the vehicle is either blue toothed or directly connected to a phone through Car Play. The screen promo pops up at the most inopportune time, sometimes repeatedly within a short period of time. This is very distracting, as it forces the driver to cancel out the screen to continue reviewing the map. The screen promo pop up has nearly caused this driver to have an accident and miss required turns during travels. Toyota is aware of the programming issue and states it cannot do anything about it. They were contacted twice, most recently on 12/11/2024, phone # 800-331-4331.
Radio volume knob broke within few months with light use due to manufacturing quality
The horn does not work. I bought the truck yesterday 6/21/2024 and on the ride home I tried to use my horn when another vehicle cut me off on the highway and realized that I don’t have a functioning horn. I have contacted the dealership but they have not responded yet.
