STABILITYTRACK LIGHT CAME ON & LOST POWER STEERING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY. IMMEDIATELY, TURNED ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND ATTEMPTED TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER. STEERING A VEHICLE AT A HIGHWAY SPEED WITHOUT POWER STEERING WAS A VERY DIFFICULT TASK. RESTARTED THE VEHICLE A COUPLE OF TIMES, THEN IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL. THE DEALERSHIP FOUND ERROR CODES U0415 AND U0420 AMONG OTHER ERRORS IN THE HISTORY OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP ONLY RE-CHARGED THE BATTERY AND RESET THE COMPUTER (I BELIEVE). HOWEVER, THE EXACT SAME ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN ON 10/18/2020 IN THE EXACT SAME SCENARIO. EXCEPT, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETECT ANY ERROR MESSAGE IN THE VEHICLE HISTORY, WHICH IS QUITE FRIGHTENING. EXPECTING TO BRING THIS VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP FOR A SECOND OPINION.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING QUITS WITH NO WARNING AND LOSE TRACTION CONTROL AND POWER STEERING. DASHBOARD LIGHTS COME ON TO SAY POWER STEERING FAILURE USE CAUTION. PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK WITH NO WARNING. THE ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE ISSUE IS TO STOP FOR FIVE MINUTES AND RESTART ENGINE. THIS TEMPORARILY FIXES THE ISSUE BUT THE PROBLEM WILL REOCCUR AT UNSUSPECTING MOMENTS. IT HAS HAPPENED AT VARYING SPEEDS FROM 25 MPH TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 75. CAUSES THE STEERING TO BECOME HEAVY AND UNMANAGEABLE REQUIRING A SPEED REDUCTION AND STOPPAGE TO RESET ENGINE. MADE APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT IT WOULD BE AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE.
POWER STEERING ABRUPTLY WENT OUT WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE BECOMING DIFGICULT IF NOT ALMOST IMPOSDIBLE TO TURN WITHOUT HERCULEAN STRENGTH.HAD I BEEN ON AN OFF RAMP MOST CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE GONE OFF THE SIDE
AT 65 MPH ON I75 STABILITY AND POWER STEERING ASSIST BOTH SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. PULLED INTO THE FIRST REST AREA (APPROX. 3 MILES), SHUT DOWN THE TRUCK AND RESTARTED IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES. SYSTEM RETURNED TO NORMAL.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON 7/23/20 AT 45MH I LOST POWER STEERING AND STABILITY CONTROL, WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND (LOST OF POWER STEERING AND STABILITY MALFUNCTION) CAME ON THE DASH. HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE TRUCK OFF, WAITED 10MIN THEN TRIAD TO START IT AND IT RESET ITSELF. THEN ON 7/25/20 IT HAPPENED AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME I WAS ON THE FREEWAY DOING 65MH WITH MY WIFE AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT GOING AROUND AN OVERPASS. BECAUSE IT'S THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE TO GO TO WORK I DECIDED TO TAKE IT 7/28/20 AND ON THE WAY HOME IT DID IT AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME IT CAUSED THE WHEELS TO SKIP, SCARED THE SH%T OUT OF ME. I READ THERE WAS A RECALL SO I CALLED THE DEALER BUT THEY SAY MY TRUCK DOSE NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I'M NOT ALONE. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS.
STABILITRAK AND POWER STEERING ERROR INDICATOR ON START UP. RESTARTED TRUCK AND FIXED THE ISSUE UNTIL DRIVING CITY STREETS FOR A COUPLE OF MILES AND THE STABILITRAK AND POWER STEERING SUDDENLY TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING WITH THE SAME INDICATORS ON MY DASH. REST OF TRUCK SEEMS TO BE WORKING FINE. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. JUST SERVICE STABILITRAK AND LOSS OF POWER STEERING INDICATOR ON DASH BOARD
I OWN THIS CAR LESS THE ONE YEAR THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES ALREADY IN LESS THE 10K I TAKE THE CAR TO DEALER NEVER FIND ANYTHING NO SOLVE PROBLEMS THEY WANT ME TO PAY TO CHANGE THE ALL POWER STEERING SYSTEM ONE TIME I WAS WITH MY KIDS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY I DON'T KNOW HOW WE DON'T END IN ACCIDENT OR WORST ALL TIME CAR HAS BEEN DRIVING I HAVE TO COME TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OFF THE ROAD NO SOLUTION GIVE BY CHEVY. *TR
TWICE THE POWER STEERING HAS BEEN LOST WHILE TRAVELING AT UNDER 25 MPH ON CITY STREETS. THE STABILITRAK AND POWER STEERING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. PULLED OVER, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED, RESTORING THE POWER STEERING.
I KEEP GETTING INFO MESSAGES WHILE DRIVING TO SERVICE STABILALINK AND POWER STEERING AND DRIVE WITH CAR AND I LOSE ALL POWER STEERING. IT HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY AND DEALER SAYS THEY CAN'T GET IT TO DO IT WHEN THEY DRIVE IT. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT GOES OUT AND I HAVE ALMOST CRASHED SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL MY STEERING. IT HAPPENS OFTEN AND 8 TIMES TODAY.
SERVICE STABLELINK COMES ON AND WITHIN SECONDS THE POWER STEERING TURNS OFF. I HAVE TO PULL OVER TURN OFF THE TRUCK FOR 15 SECONDS TO RESET THE COMPUTER AND MOST OF THE TIME IT STOPS. HOWEVER THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN IT DOES NOT RESET AND I HAVE TO DRIVE WITHOUT POWER STEERING. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY. I CAN BE STOPED ON THE HIGHWAY OR AROUND TOWN.
STABILITRAK UNAVAILABLE LIGHT COMES ON AND POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND MAKES THE VEHICLE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THIS CAN HAPPEN AT SLOW OR HIGH SPEEDS
WITHOUT WARNING THE SERVICE POWER STEERING MESSAGE APPEARS AND IMMEDIATELY THERE IS A LOSS OF STEERING. IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. WHEN STOPPED AND THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF THE SYSTEM SOMETIMES RESETS BACK TO NORMAL. ALSO WITHOUT WARNING THE MESSAGE SERVICE STABILTRAK COMES ON. IN THIS MODE THE TRUCK PULLS EXTREMELY TO THE HARD TO THE LEFT. THIS HAPPENED 4 TIMES WITHIN AN HOUR AT ALL VARIOUS SPEEDS ON OPEN COUNTRY ROADS. I'VE READ GM HAS RECALLED 2015 COLORADO'S FOR SAME PROBLEM (GM15595). WHY HAVEN'T THEY INCLUDED 2016? I'VE READ THE REPAIR COSTS ABOUT $1700.00. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
WHEN DRIVING AT SPEED OF TRAFFIC, POWER STEERING GOES AWAY MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER TRUCK. WARNING CODE COMES ON SERVICE STABILITRAK. BY PULLING OVER AND TURNING OFF THEN RESTARTING TRUCK. CODE CLEARS AND POWER STEERING IS ACTIVE AGAIN. 2015 MODEL OF SAME TRUCK HAD A RECALL THAT GM IS APPARENTLY NOT ADDRESSING ON THE 2016 MODELS. PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED WHILE SITTING AT A LIGHT, AND WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. PROBLEM IS COMPLETELY RANDOM. DEALER CLEARED PROGRAM ERRORS BUT COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING ELSE WRONG. WIFE DROVE ON FREEWAY AND POWER STEERING FAILED AGAIN ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WHILE TURNING SOUTHBOUND FROM AN EAST BOUND FREEWAY CONNECTOR.
VEHICLE HAS 40K MILES. BEGAN DISPLAYING STABILITRAK PROBKEM AT 30K MILES ALONG WITH WARNING THAT STEERING ASSIST IS DIMINISHED. THIS SEEMS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2015 MODELS.
