The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, the transmission suddenly malfunctioned causing all four wheels to lock up, causing the vehicle to skid. During the failure, the vehicle abruptly decelerated and veered to the left. After the failure, the check engine warning light remained illuminated, and the vehicle went into "LIMP Mode”. The vehicle was driven to the local dealer who diagnosed and determined that the transmission valve body was faulty and needed to be replaced. The transmission valve body was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000.

At 19k miles the transmission had a shifting problem and went into limp mode forcing a deceleration while on a highway. Had to unhook the battery and hook it back up to clear the code to get to a safe point for towing. Had to do this 3 times. Once at the dealer they could not recreate the problem. One week later it went into limp mode again. Took it to the deal and was informed that the valve body in the transmission would need to be replace. There is a supply shortage on parts and I am now without a truck for who knows how long.

2023 Silverado with 10 speed transmission. 20K miles. On 11/30 received "Reduced Power" message, quickly followed by "Service Transmission Now Unable to Shift Soon", which was quickly followed by "Service Transmission". CEL came on. Transmission was shifting erratically, and not shifting into higher gears. Clearly a safety concern. Dropped it off at a local dealer on 12/1. Dealer service advisor contacted me 12/12, saying they were finally able to diagnose the problem and the transmission needs a new valve body. However, the valve body is on back order and there is no estimated time for when it will be available. The internet is awash with stories of the same issue with GM's 10 speed transmission in the light duty pick up trucks, leaving owners waiting for weeks, even months before their vehicle is repaired.

Truck started hesitating for no known reason. No check engine light, nothing. Shortly thereafter, truck stopped shifting after I pulled out into a very busy intersection. Would not move briefly. I quickly put it into park, then neutral, then drive again, and was able to limp out of the intersection, just missing oncoming vehicles. I was then able to barely limp to dealership. Check engine light finally came on just before I got there. They say defective transmission cooler seal and lines. I have no idea. Truck in shop for 5 weeks and no idea of when it will return. According to various Chevy/GMC forums, it's happening to others. Some have had entire transmission replaced in a car less than a year old. Not being able to exit an intersection is a problem.

On first start up when put truck in drive and give gas when it shifts from 1st gear to 2nd gear there is a big hesitation when trying to shift and rpm’s revs up then it goes into 2nd gear. This has been verified by the dealers service advisor. The service advisor says they have no service bulletin on this problem so they have no solution for it at this time. This has been happening since August 3 2023 off and on until today. I have many recording of this happening. The service adviser has listened to several of them.

The transmission has a shudder during gear change and at certain speeds. First noted to dealer at 7,500 miles and they could not duplicate. At 15,000 it is worse, they confirmed the issue but had no fix. New truck, they want me to just accept the problem for the moment and keep driving it. Not happy, distracting, wonder about damage being caused, and long-term impact. Will it quit on trip, middle of the night, etc.?

The contact's husband owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at approximately 60 MPH, and shifting gear, the vehicle lost motive power for 15-20 seconds. The Forward Collision Avoidance warning light was illuminated. On another occasion, while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver assist function was activated, an error message was displayed, and the vehicle failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the transmission fluid needed to be flushed, and the TCM module needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The transmission "shifter" has a Parking switch on top of the shifter. Pushing the shifter full forward results in the transmission being in REVERSE. Vehicles have had full forward result in PARK for as long as the automatic transmission has been around, creating a dangerous conflict between muscle memory and function. There have been two close-calls where my mind has considered it to be in PARK and when letting off the brake, the truck began moving in reverse. Luckily, I would have only hit a parked car but if there was a person behind me? Things could turn bad, quickly. When accelerating, the transmission is having issues changing gears. When the truck is trying to change gears, there is a tugging type of feeling. We have not taken the vehicle to the dealer, but we have seen that other similar vehicles are having the same issue. No warning lamps or messages appear.

I am writing to bring to your attention a recurring issue with my recently purchased 2023 Chevrolet Silverado, documented in detail here: [XXX] . Despite the evidence presented in the document and my personal experience, Chevrolet claims there is no known issue with my vehicle. The persistent problem involves a front-end squeak chirp, which significantly impacts the driving experience. There is less than 7000 miles on my new 2023 Silverado. I am reaching out to seek your assistance in addressing this matter, as it appears to be a broader concern affecting multiple Silverado models. I believe your involvement can help ensure that both my specific case and the larger issue are thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions are taken to rectify these ongoing problems. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to a resolution that ensures the safety and performance of my vehicle. The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated and was jerking when shifting between the first and second gear. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module (TCM) needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving into his driveway, with the vehicle lunging forward. The vehicle was then taken to Murdock Chevrolet (2375 S 625 W, Woods Cross, UT 84010), where the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired and had remained at the local dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000. The VIN was not available. The contact has refused to take the vehicle home until the dealer can provide them with a remedy and repair for the failure.
