At that point the van was not driven, and dies. vehicle gets towed to the dealership- bad starter and possibly another cylinder misfire. Starter replaced, car rough starts and coolant starts leaking into cylinder black smoke coming from exhaust. Cylinder 3 misfired and now being told that either the head gasket needs to be replace or the cylinder head because it may be cracked or warped.

Car started having a ticking noise above the dashboard, the ticking noise started a few months ago but did not affect the driving ability of the vehicle. A few weeks ago I got an engine misfire error. After the misfire the car then quickly deteriorated and stopped turning over but the electrical still worked. I had the car towed to the dealership and it looks like it will require a new engine or long block. The dealership is having the same errors we had at home but they were able to put in a new starter to get it to turn over. The dealership is currently taking a part the engine to determine what all needs to be replaced. We were lucky that this issue started when we were leaving our home. Had this engine failure happened during a drive on the freeway it may have been determinantal to me and my family.

I have a blown head gasket and my car has been in the shop for over 3 months because the part is not available. The car has never overheated. I'm so frustrated as I know this is a known problem with these cars. The car is at the shop, sitting in pieces because of the lack of parts available.

I NOTIFIED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A CHRYSLER DEALER AND THEY WILL CHECK IT OUT , THEY DID, AND FOUND THE ENGINE OIL COOLER LEAKING OIL.THIS IS A VERY BIG SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE ENGINE CAN RUN OUT OF OIL AND SEIZE UP AN EXPRESSWAY DRIVING 65 MPH AND CAUSE DEATH OR OTHER SERIOUS INJURY. NO VEHICLE SHOULD EVERY LEAK OIL AT ONLY 69000 MILES, THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT AND ALL 3.6 CHRYSLER ENGINE SHOULD BE RECALLED. I HAD TO PAY 969.00 TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. Symptoms: Rough Idle Check Engine Light Code: P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire. Noticed the Coolant was low, and topped it off with distilled water. I've only owned it for a year and have had NO issues with overheating. The next day it wouldn't start. Towed to the dealer. Dealer replaced the starter and pulled out plug #5 and "coolant shot out of the spark plug hole". Dealers recommended service is Head Gasket replacement, with the possibility of head being re-surfaced or complete engine replacement. I was lucky the vehicle was in my driveway when it failed to start. It appears this exact scenario has happened to at least 50 other folks active in a single online community at 60,000-80,000 odometer miles (mine is at 74,000). So I believe this situation is much larger.

Stalling and loss of power, the car computer reader code is P0305. 5th cylinder misfire, and a P0300 cylinder misfire. 2017 pacifica with 62,000 miles and there are tons of people with the same issue around the same mileage. Funny how the drivetrain warranty ends at 55,000 miles and all of these Pacificas are failing at 60,000 - 80,000 with blown headgaskets or bad cylinders. $2000-$12000 depending on what blew.

When I was driving at local road around 20 miles per hour, the engine suddenly shut down. My car was stopped in the middle of road. I had to shift the gear to park and restart the engine and go. This has been happened three times in the past two months.

VAN JUMPED AND BUCKED WHILE DRIVING IN A PUBLIX SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT MY HEAD WENT BACK AND FORTH WITH A LOT OF FORCE DEFINITELY NOT NORMAL.THE VAN WAS IN MOTION DRIVING SLOWER THREW LOT.

Our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica was stopped in traffic on Clinton River Road, Sterling Heights Michigan. When we engaged the gas pedal the vehicle would not start. The vehicle has the engine stop/start feature. By that we mean when the vehicle stops the engine stops and restarts when the gas pedal is depressed. Because we were blocking traffic, the police called for a tow truck which costs us $100. The dealer diagnosed the problem to be the starter with an estimate of $750, Because we had purchased the MOPAR extended warranty our cost was $200. The dealer also informed us that there is no way to permanently disable the stop/start feature. We believe this feature is a safety issue because we never now when the vehicle will not start after stopping and could cause a major traffic jam as it for us. Also, without the extended warranty the total cost would have exceeded $800. Thank you

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS WEEK AND THIRD TIME OVERALL WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT (THE AUTO START/STOP IS TURNED OFF) MY VEHICLE ENGINE COMPLETELY TURNED OFF. I GOT A MESSAGE ON THE DASH THAT SAID TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN. II LOSE ALL POWER STEERING, BRAKES ARE STIFF AND CANNOT DO ANYTHING, IT IS COMPLETELY OFF. L HAVE BEEN SO FORTUNATE EACH TIME IT HAPPENED TO HAVE BEEN STOPPED, AS I HAD MY KIDS IN THE CAR THE SECOND TIME AND THE LIGHT HAD CHANGED GREEN BUT I COULD NOT GO.

I PURCHASED THIS PACIFICA PRE-OWNED IN JULY 2019 WITH 18K+ MILES. FROM DAY ONE I COMPLAINED ABOUT 2 THINGS: 1. ROUGH IDLE (VIBRATION) AND 2. BRIEF LOSS OF POWER ON ACCELERATION AT ABOUT 17-18 MPH (FROM FULL STOP), THEN "LURCHING"/JOLTING INTO GEAR AND ACCELERATING PROPERLY THEREAFTER. PEMBROKE PINES, FL,AUTONATION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP DEALER FIRST SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS...THEN ACKNOWLEDGED THESE ARE ACTUALLY KNOWN COMMON ISSUES BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS.
