2010 Ford Fusion Power Train

Driver side CV AXLE broke.

Car parking selector, cable, parking prowler/bearing or module sensor inside transmission when car is placed in park indicator indicate as in park but vehicle still motions forward as not in park and if key can be taking out an car shut off will not start because not in the park position an is tough trying to get back in park to start the vehicle but indicator indicates as car in the park position has happened 3-4 times once almost causing a accident in a shopping enter whiling trying to park in parking space an vehicle indicated as in the park position an turn off vehicle it continued to roll forward almost hitting the vehicle in front parking space

The transmission has a steady leak and has shifting problems with jerking and revving without moving. When going from reverse to drive it will not move immediately and when it does catch it shifts very hard.

The transmission fails to shift from first to second and also is shuttering in reverse. It revs the engine and suddenly lurches forward or reverse. It becomes unsafe trying to get to traffic speed from a light or when turning. Yes the by independent service company. No it has need been inspected by a dealer or manufacturer. Warning lights came on after the first time it happened. This is a known issue with these transmissions and I believe its a manufacture failure to recall these transmisisons.

124k miles on my Fusion. My wife's car, she doesn't beat on it. Had street cleaning, had to move to other side of street, went around the block. Had very little acceleration, jerking, by the time I made it around the block an Orange Wrench came on to the dash. ( If this would of started on the express way, I wouldn't be alive to report it) Car was fine the 2 days prior, drove it, had it washed, taken in for emissions test. The following day took it in to get the wrench code scanned by my regular mechanic P2701-00 transmission friction element b apply time range/performance My mechanic told to take it in to a few Trans shops to get it checked out to see what they say. Need to replace the entire Trans... Looking at 3500.00 minimum. Unfortunately the trans problem is commonly known now for these years on the fusion. This is something a recall is needed for.

Power Steering Assist Fault. This message comes on occasionally when I first start the car. When I turn ignition off and back on, it usually clears up. My car has only 52k miles. Other Ford Fusion years had the same problem. Why were they recalled but not 2010? I’ve taken the car to a mechanic who has told me electronic power steering module must be replaced. I’m waiting for the estimate. $1500-$2500 out of pocket for a known manufacturer defect is unnerving. It first happened in the fall and now happens more frequently.

This problem has been addressed in Ford's "Customer Satisfaction Program 13N03 for Non-Hybrid Ford Fusions. Hybrid Ford Fusions have thee same Throttle Body Assembly part that has been replaced by Ford's Customer Satisfaction Program 13N03, so why not include Hybrid Ford Fusions too? (My car has only 61,000 miles.)

VEHICLE IS A 2010 FUSION HYBRID. VEHICLE HESITATES FOR 1-3 SECONDS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THERE IS A DELAY BECAUSE OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE A FAILURE OF THE HYBRID DRIVE SYSTEM TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE POWER. I ALSO NOTICE THIS DURING ROUTINE DRIVING, ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN THEN. THE HYBRID POWER SYSTEM HAS SIMPLY STOPPED PROVIDING THE ADDITIONAL POWER REQUIRED BY THE POWERTRAIN TO OPERATE PROPERLY. THIS IS PARTICULARLY PROBLEMATIC WHEN PULLING OUT OF A SIDE STREET ONTO A BUSY ROAD. THE CAR HAS ENOUGH POWER TO GET ME INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD BUT THEN HESITATES TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY FOR 2-3 SECONDS, PRESENTING A DANGER TO ME AND OTHER CARS. I AM LEARNING TO COMPENSATE FOR THIS DELAY BUT THIS IS SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND OTHER DRIVERS. TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING BAD FROM FRONT OF BELL HOUSING WHEN IN ANY GEAR. L/H AXLE SEAL WENT BAD 3 YEARS AGO, FIXED THAT BEEN FINE UNTIL THIS. A LOT OF TBS ON THIS PROBLEM, TIME FORD DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

TRANS. PROBLEM HAPPENING FOR A LONG TIME. SINCE 2015. TRANS JUMPS OUT OF GEAR, LOSES POWER AND LURCHES. EXPERIENCED 3 NEAR HE AD ON COLISIONS WHEN JUMPING OUT OF GEAR. I HAVE NOTICED SCORES OF COMPAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS IDENTICAL PROBLEM.ALL WITH VEHICAL IN MOTION.

OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS MY FORD FUSION'S TRANSMISSION HAS SLOWLY BEGUN TO LOSE ITS SHIFTING ABILITIES. IT FIRST STARTED WITH SLUGGISH AND JERKY MOVEMENT WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE AND THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED. THEN IT STARTED SLIPPING AND JERKING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THERE WAS NO SPECIFIC SPEED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE GOING. IT INCREASED TO AN EXTREMELY HIGH REV BEFORE MAKING A LOUD BANG AND HARD SHIFT INTO GEAR. AS OF YESTERDAY, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, IT SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR AS I WAS SLOWING TO A STOP THEN WOULDN'T REENGAGE 2ND OR 3RD GEAR. I LIMPED IT DOWN THE ROAD TO THE NEAREST EXIT INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE I STOPPED IN A PARKING SPOT. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR A WHILE BEFORE TURNING IT BACK ON. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT, REVERSE WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I PUSHED IT OUT OF THE SPOT AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT INTO DRIVE, THEN A QUARTER MILE DOWN THE ROAD ALL DRIVE GEARS WENT OUT. I WAS ABLE TO COAST IT INTO ANOTHER PARKING LOT WHERE I SHUT IT OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT 15 MIN TO COOL AND TRIED AGAIN. NOTHING. I LOST ALL GEARS IN THE CAR. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE, SINCE TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC WOULD JUST LEAD TO THEM INFORMING ME OF THE SAME THING THAT ALL OTHER COMPLAINTS AND FORUMS HAVE STATED ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. A TRANSMISSION CHANGE FOR A MINIMUM OF $2500 AND THERE'S NO RECALL ON A VERY WELL DOCUMENTED AND SERIOUS ISSUE REGARDING FORD TRANSMISSIONS.

IN RESPONSE TO FREE PRESS NEWS ARTICLE FROM SUNDAY 7/14, I PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2010 FORD FUSION WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUES. FORD CLAIMED THEY INSTALLED THE A FIX FOR THE ISSUE, BUT PROBLEMS PERSISTED. VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOST POWER WHILE ON THE FREEWAY ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. PLEASE EXPAND INVESTIGATION TO INCLUDE FUSIONS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.

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

FROM AROUND 30000 MILES ON I HAVE HAD A. N INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH TRANS. SLIPPING BETWEEN 2ND & 3RD? GEARS. MENTIONED IT TO RUTHERFORD AT LEAST TWICE, WAS TOLD THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. TOOK CAR TO DESOTO FORD DEALER WHILE STILL UNDER EXTENDED WARR WAS TOLD IT MIGHT BE DIRT IN VALVE BODY AND IF TAKEN OUT AND NOTHING FOUND ENTIRE COST WOULD HAVE BEEN ON ME. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. NOW TRANS IS SLIPPING VERY OFTEN. I FEEL THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF UNDER ORIGINAL FACTORY WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM ALWAYS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING.

MY ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON THE FREEWAY. IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER ASSISTED STEERING.

TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND ENGINE RACING

TAKATA RECALL: MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HER 2010 FORD FUSION WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMINGLY LOCKED UP. SHE WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND NEARLY WRECKED IN PANIC. LUCKILY IT DID LOOSEN ENOUGH FOR HER TO GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE SITUATION.
