Parking brake automatically engaged and left me stranded. I had it towed to the dealer and they found water in the spare tire compartment dealer . The repair tech said that water had damaged the parking brake module as well as others . I do not live in any area that has been flooded

I own 2015 Jeep Cherokee. the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v338000((electrical system, structure); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The recall was announced in May of 2023. It is now February 2024. The only solution for this urgent recall is to park outside away from vehicles and buildings. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirm parts not available.

There is still no remedy for my vehicle, the rain water got inside my vehicle and made the seats/ carpet moldy and still smells like mold after 3 interior cleanings and months of keeping up with cleaning. Water still gets through. The back tailgate doesn’t work due to the recall and I’m not sure what to do. I would like the manufacturer to take it back and give me the amount I’ve paid for it through finance.

Stellaris (Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep) issued an urgent recall for my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk in May, 2023, related to the electric liftgate (recall 49A), notifying me that I should not park my vehicle indoors, as it can spontaneously catch fire. I can neither park in my garage at home (which violates my HOA terms) nor at work (which is underground) and be in compliance with the recall. I'm also unable to sell the vehicle back to the dealer. As of today, 1/29/2024, nine months later, I talked to both my local dealer and FCA directly on their helpline. There is no repair available and FCA confirmed by phone that there is 'no timeline available' for parts availability. This is unacceptable, as recall repairs should be completed in a timely fashion. I can be contacted at [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have a recall for the electrical system due to a possibility of fire with or without the ignition on. I've called several dealerships to get this taken care of only to be told there is not a solution yet, that their waiting lists are backed up, that they can't help me, etc., and I cannot get in touch with the manufacturer. This recall is serious enough that they recommend not to park it near any structures in case the vehicle catches on fire. Obviously, this vehicle is not safe to drive. I am wanting options in terms of replacing the vehicle which the dealerships and manufacturer are not being forthcoming with.

Service Shifter Error comes on and off consistently -- dealer said that this error is known and common and has been going on for many many years. There is no "fix" to the problem and replacing the entire console is the only way to try to remediate the problem but this often does not work. It is incredibly expensive to concerning.

Safety recall 49A/NHTSA 23V-338. Fire hazard. Do not park in garage or near other vehicles. This was issued 5/11/2023 and has not been repaired. The restrictions make the vehicle nearly unusable. Try going to Wal Mart or church and not park next to another vehicle or park somewhere and find that another vehicle parked next to you. How long is a reasonable repair time? If they can't fix the vehicle maybe they should consider a buyback.

The “service shifter” warning repetitively pops up on the dash obscuring speedometer while traveling including at highway speeds. Dealer says the shifter wiring harness must be replaced at a cost of over $300. This single Jeep dealer says they have had to replace the harness on hundreds of Jeeps & agrees that it should be a matter for mfg recall.

Jeep/Chrysler/FCA/Stellantis has known about an electrical problem with the tailgate lift for years. I now have received Recall 49A requesting me "...to not park these vehicles inside of buildings or structures..." because of fire potential. I have been to my local Jeep dealer - no help! I called 800-Chrysler - no help! I called 844-253-2872 - no help! Will Jeep/Chrysler/FCA/Stellantis reimburse me for damages from parking my Jeep outside, of course not! But, they don't mind damaging my vehicle since I have to pay for it and not them. Jeep/Chrysler/FCA/Stellantis needs a swift kick in the b__t and get this thing fixed. They have had years to fix is and are simply stonewalling the customers. NHTSA please help.

In June 2023, the consumer received a notice for NHTSA Safety Recall Campaign No. 15V-826. The consumer made an appointment with the local dealer, but was advised that the remedy is not available at this time. Also , the consumer is concerned about the "park the vehicle outside" warning cited in the recall notice. The consumer proposes a prompt repair or the use of replacement vehicle until the recall is available.

May 2023 Fire

2015 Jeep Latitude caught fire in the middle of the night on 03/29/2023 (6 weeks before Jeep's latest recall) with the ignition off, parked in my driveway - no one in it and the ignition had been off for over 3 hours. Fire started under the driver's side tail light INSIDE the framework of the Jeep with the electrical wiring. What is jeep going to do for those of us who have already lost their vehicle because of a Jeep design flaw? (FYI, Stellantis/FCA/Mopar/Jeep are all aware of this situation, and Stellantis reply to me was they would not tell me the cause of why my Jeep caught on fire and offered no solutions to what I was facing - their response to me was barely 3 weeks before they sent out the recall so Stellantis lied from the beginning about the issue and denied all accountability since it happened before they sent the recall even though they had been "investigating" the issue for over a 6 months at least with other Jeeps)

Got a recall letter about an electrical shortage May 11.Called the dealer and customer care, both told me that there was nothing they can do about recall as there is no solution; however, my recall cause a serious safety issue as it can start a fire with ignition on or off. Its been almost 60 days no solution; therefore I would like to replace my vehicle as there is nothing they can do to fix it and driving it causes a safety hazard that Im not comfortable putting myself in as I suffer from ptsd from a previous car crash, and deal with anxiety daily so this problem to my vehicle is causing me emotional distress.

Vehicle recall has not been resolved in a timely manner. Liftgate does not open, preventing access to spare tire in case of emergency. Also poses a fire risk.

Water shields in lift gate failed, allowing water to seep into electrical components of car. All electrical systems failed including parking brake, lights, locks, and ignition.

Emergency parking brake would automatically engage. Service parking brake message on dash. Could not flat tow vehicle due to this problem. Dealer replaced EPB module. Told me it showed corrosion. Still getting message after replacement. Further investigation showed water intrusion due to cracked body or leaking seal. Replaced wiring harness. I believe all of this is in same area that is in the lift gate recall and subject the same electrical fire dangers.

My trunk flooded with water, resulting in the failure of the parking brake permanently in an engaged position. This happened fortunately after my car was parked, but could have happened while I was driving.

I open the car with key fob and vehicle dash lights up when I go to start vehicle everything goes black and vehicle will not start. The battery in vehicle has been checked and in good condition I replaced key fob battery still does not work. This has happened a couple times and then vehicle will magically start. I am generally stuck for a while before we can get it going . I have tried putting fob against starter button to start doesn’t work, I have pressed brake hard, still noting leaving me stranded at night

My liftgate tries to operate while I am driving. I have taken my jeep in to the dealer 3 times for the same issue. They have thrown parts at it but never fixed it. I believe this is an electrical problem because it only happens when the weather is hot and inside vehicle temp is hot. The lift gate will operate without expectation or try to, even when I am driving. When I am driving, A warning will show on the dash "shift vehicle to park to operate liftgate" while I am driving. If the vehicle has been parked for a while and the internal temperature is hot,, I can touch the sensor door handle to unlock the door and the lift gate will operate on its own and open. The lift gate does not do this when the internal vehicle temperature is not hot. The lift gate will also begin operating itself while being parked with the vehicle running - if the internal temperature is hot and the weather is hot: I can be parked with the engine running and the lift gate will operate itself up and down sometimes multiple times. (Like in the bank drive through - has happened multiple times). I am not ever touching anything that could have begun this operation. Dealership keeps telling me that it is not a known issue but there are multiple videos on YouTube about the lift gate operation of this vehicle and they all say it requires pulling the fuse out and then putting it back in to reset. This is an electrical issue, it has to be. There are 2 other recalls that involve the lift gate modules for this vehicle - the VIN for my specific vehicle says it is not involved in those recalls- but I cannot believe this - this issue has been ongoing since the vehicle was 1 yr old. The dealership cannot seem to find the problem and is, at this point, just throwing parts at it, which is not fixing it and only costing money. For some reason they refuse to look at the wiring or relay modules. I believe this is a serious safety issue and worry that it will never get repaired.
