TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT 129 THOUSAND MILES..CALLED NISSAN AND THEY SAID IT WAS 9 THOUSAND MILES OUT OF WARRANTY..AND THAT IT WAS OUR PROBLEM..ABSOLUTELY RUDE ABOUT IT..WE HAVE 161 THOUSAND ON IT NOW STILL WITH A BAD TRANSMISSION CAUSE IT'S TO EXPENSIVE TO FIX.. PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME ABOUT RECALLS ON THE CVT TRANSMISSION BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY FOR THIS CAR
WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN HARD SHIFTING, LONG SHIFTING, SKIP SHIFTING, AND NOT SHIFTING. WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL GOING UPHILL IT WILL REV UP AND MAKE OUT ON RPMS AND I HAVE TO TURN OFF CRUISE CONTROL. AT ONE POINT GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY IT HAD NO POWER LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. I STILL AM HAVE SHIFTING ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BERMAN NISSAN OF CHICAGO (3456 N KEDZIE AVE, CHICAGO, IL 60618, 773-295-4650) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS NEEDED. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF $4,000 FOR THE COST OF REPAIRS. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE AND THEY AGREED TO PAY 60% OF THE COST FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT WANTING TO CATCH THE GEARS TO MAKE IT DRIVE.
WHILE DRIVING ONTO THE FREEWAY MY CAR STARTING HESITATING TO CATCH SPEED AND AFTER IT DID WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IT BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND LOOSE POWER . IT WAS ACCOMPANIED WE WITH WHINING SOUND AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON . I WENT TO A TRANSMISSION HAD A FLUID EXCHANGE DONE AND THE FLUID TURNED TO A DARK LOOKING OIL ALMOST SIMILAR TO MOTOR OIL . THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUES TO MALFUNCTION ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEED AND ON CITY ROAD AT LOWER SPEEDS. THE QUALITY OF MY DRIVE TRAIN DECLINED TO TO THE POINT OF NO LONGER RUNNING. MY VEHICLE HAS NOW BEEN PARKED FOR ALMOST 2 AND A HALF MONTHS . IT ONLY HAS 114,000 MILES ON IT . I CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA WILL NOT HELP ME FIX IT BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY
I HAVE HAD A JUDDERING AND DELAYED ACCELERATION ISSUE SINCE REACHING 50,000 MILES HAD IT CHECKED BY THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD NO ISSUE COULD BE FOUND. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE TIRES. SINCE THEN THE JUDDERING AND LOW DELAYED ACCELERATION JUST GOT WORSE. WENT TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE TCM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE? SINCE THE TCM WAS REPROGRAMMED I HAVE HAD 2 OCCASIONS WHEN ACCELERATING TO GO ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE THE RPMS JUMPED UP TO 5000 AND OVER WITH NO POWER (HIGH RPMS AND NO POWER). I HAD TO PULL OVER COME TO COMPLETE STOP AND UNTIL THE RPMS WOULD COME DOWN. ALSO EVERY TIME WHEN GOING UP HILLS BIG OR SMALL THE VEHICLE'S RPMS JUMP UP AND BARLEY MAKES IT UP THE HILL. (HIGH RPMS AND NO POWER) THIS VEHICLE IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO KILL ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. THE DEALER INSPECTED IT AGAIN WITH NO INDICATORS TELLS ME ITS THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY. I COULD HAVE TOLD YOU THAT BACK AT 50,0000 MILES.
WHEN DRIVING AS I AM PICKING UP SPEED CAR JERKS (PULL) AS IT SWITCHING GEARS.
I WAS ABOUT TO PULL OUT OF A PARKING LOT, I CHANGED MY GEAR FROM PARKED TO DRIVE AND AS I STARTED TO DRIVE OUT, I NOTICED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AGAIN AND MY CAR JERKED BACK AND FORTH A COUPLE OF TIMES AS I STARTED TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, BUT USUALLY THE CAR ONLY JERKS FOR A SECOND WHENEVER I CHANGE GEARS.
TRANSMISSION SHAKES /STUDDERS AND VIBRATES ON ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN PRESSING ON GAS. ALSO NO DELAY IN ACCELERATION WHEN PRESSING GAS FROM STOP OR SLOW SPEEDS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.
TAKATA RECALL: TRANSMISSION BLEW OUT AFTER 2 YEARS OF BUYING OFF THE NISSAN LOT. THIS HAPPENED WHEN IN ROUTE OUT OF TOWN FOR THE DAY, CAR WAS STALLING AND SEEMED TO BE IN NEUTRAL BUT ACTUALLY IN DRIVE. HAD TO TOW HOME AFTER STOPPING AND GOING ON STREETS AND FREEWAYS.

WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE FUEL TANK REPAIRED, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MOSSY NISSAN CHULA VISTA (1885 AUTO PARK PL, CHULA VISTA, CA 91911, (619) 397-6578) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
TRANSMISSION SLIPS STALLS SHUDDERS AND WON'T PULL AWAY FROM STOP LIGHT AT TIMES ALSO ON ACCELERATION IT HESITATED BADLY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY FAILED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (MOSSY NISSAN, 8118 CLAIREMONT MESA BLVD, SAN DIEGO, CA) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
TRANSMISSION STICK IN FIRST GEAR AND WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS ON CITY STREETS
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT 85,000 MILES, TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT HE DEALS WITH IT ALL TIME AND IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THOSE TRANSMISSIONS AND DIDNT UNDERSTAND WHY NISSAN STILL USED THEM. SPOKE TO NISSAN USA AND THEY WANTED TO FIGHT TO PAY FOR THE COST AND WANTED TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICE TECH LAUGHED AND SAID YOU COULDN'T REBUILD IT BECAUSE ITS A CLOSED SYSTEM. ONLY OWNERS OF THE CAR AND HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION WITH 85,000 MILES ON IT.

ONCE THE VEHICLE REGISTERED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO #1 COCHRAN NISSAN OF SOUTH HILLS (3200 W LIBERTY AVE, PITTSBURGH, PA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED SOFTWARE REPROGRAMMING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH 62000 MILES ON IT. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER OFF THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT BEING RUN OVER BY THE SEMI TRUCKS TRAVELING THE HIGHWAY WITH ME. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION WAS 'DEFECTIVE' AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE, I FIND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME COMPLAINT AND ONE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT ALREADY SETTLED OVER THE SAME ISSUE. HOW CAN A MANUFACTURER BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE USING A FAULTY TRANSMISSION AND NOT BE MADE RESPONSIBLE FOR ITS CORRECTION? THESE VEHICLES ARE NOT CHEAP, AND THOSE OF US PAYING FOR THEM DID NOT PURCHASE A DISPOSABLE VEHICLE!
IT HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO BUY A NEW TRANSMISSION AND ONLY HAS 85700 MILES
NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCING ISSUES, BEING VERY UNSAFE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD NORMALLY, THE CAR STARTED REVVING VERY HIGH. AFTER PULLING OVER AND TURNING THE CAR OFF, THEN TURNING IT BACK ON, IT CONTINUED TO REV OVER 3,000 RPM AT ABOUT 10-15 MPH AND NEVER "SHIFT" INTO HIGHER GEAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE BEFORE, AND TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON SOLVED THE ISSUE. IT WAS SERVICED BY THE DEALERSHIP WITH NEW CVT FLUID, BUT NOW THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED AND HAS NOT GONE AWAY WITH SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON. IT MOST RECENTLY HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING, LUCKILY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS NEARBY, AND I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 65000, 5K BEYOND WARRENTY. TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING BETWEEN GEARS AROUND 35-40 MPH
THIS NISSAN VEHICLE'S CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS REPLACED. THAT TRANSMISSION FAILED AGAIN IN LESS THAN SIX MONTHS AND BECAUSE IT WAS OUTSIDE THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION'S WARRANTY, THE DEALER NOR NISSAN WILL REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T WANT TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION FOR A THIRD TIME WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT THAT WILL LIKELY FAIL AGAIN AND IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NISSAN WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR.
WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING AND AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT (FOUR WAY INTERSECTION) ON A CITY HIGHWAY, THE CAR CUT OFF IN THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, HE PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR WENT A FEW FEET AND SHUT OFF.
CVT TRANS INTERNAL FAILURE @60,933 MI. , TRANS MADE A LOUD CLUNKING SOUND BEFOREBECOMING INOPERABLE, REQUIRED A TOW TRUCK TO GET TO DEALER. NOW HAS NEW CVT TRANS @ NO COST BECAUSE CAR WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY VEHICLE DIED ON HWY EXIT RAMP.
