TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE ABNORMALLY WHEN DRIVING 45 MPH. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE FRONT AXLES WERE DEFECTIVE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 128,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE START POSITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE FROM PARK TO DRIVE GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED. THE CONTACT PREVIOUSLY NOTICED THAT THE GEAR SELECTOR WOULD HESITATE WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35000.
I HAVE A 2007 4CYL TOYOTA CAMRY AND ON OCCASION IT WILL HESITATE WHEN ACCELERATING. GENERALLY OCCURS ONLY WHEN MOVING AT VERY SLOW RATE OF SPEED AND ACCELERATE TO PULL QUICKLY INTO TRAFFIC. I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND WHEN ONLY HAD AROUND 500 MILES ON THE VEHICLE THE CLUTCH STARTED STICKING AND THE DEALER TRIED TO ACT AS IF I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT UNTIL THEY TESTED IT AND IT HAPPENED TO THEM. A NEW CLUTCH WAS THEN PUT IN AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL NOW. I NOW HAVE 31000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND TODAY AS I WAS LEAVING OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE AT WORK THE CLUTCH STUCK AND I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND WAIT UNTIL THE CLUTCH POPPED UP. I WAS THEN ABLE TO DRIVE HOME WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS BUT 1 ST THING ON MONDAY I WILL HAVE IT AT THE DEALER. WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS, HAVE ANY SIMILAR PROBLEMS BEEN REPORTED? 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY CONCERN *GR THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A HIGH NOISE LEVEL WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE NOISE LEVEL INSIDE THE VEHICLE INCREASED OVER TIME AND THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER WITHOUT RAISING THE SOUND CONVERSATION. THE CONSUMER ALSO EXPERIENCED STALLING WHILE DRIVING. AT TIMES THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS APPLIED. ON OCCASION, THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK AND THEN HESITATE. THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, WHEN HE REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT TO NEUTRAL, HE WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, AND THE RE-START IT. IN NOVEMBER 2009 WHILE THE CONSUMERS WIFE WAS DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED ON THE FREEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND UPON INSPECTION, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION WAS EVENTUALLY REPLACED, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER STATED HE CONTINUES TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH RESPECT TO THE ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO JERK AND HESITATE UPON APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ACCELERATING AND ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT INTO GEAR, THE TRANSMISSION HESITATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AND OFFERED A 10% DISCOUNT. THE CONTACT DECLINED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED SEVERAL TIMES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE AND STOP IT BY USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SE V6. I HAVE EXPERIENCED SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT WHERE I CAN BE DRIVING ALONG AND WHEN I SLOW DOWN, THE ENGINE WILL REV AND THE TACHOMETER WILL GO UP TO AROUND 4,000 RPM AND THEN WHAT SEEMS LIKE 30 SECONDS OR MORE, THE GEARS WILL FINALLY CATCH AND THE CAR WILL GO AND ALL THIS RESULTS IN A JERK LIKE REACTION GIVING ME A WHIPLASH FEELING. IT CAN HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED AND THE LATEST EXPERIENCE HAPPENED WHEN I WAS GOING AROUND 55 MPH, ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH WAS VERY FULL WITH TRAFFIC. IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING NOT TO MENTION A MAIN CONCERN AS TO IF THE CAR WERE TO LOSE POWER, I WOULD HAVE TO SOMEHOW COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND WHERE I WAS THERE WASN'T MUCH ROOM TO PULL OVER. *JB

WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UP AN INCLINE AT A LOW SPEED OF 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE ENGINE WAS NON- RESPONSIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 28900. UPDATED 3/17/10 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER A FULL STOP ON S STEEP INCLINE. WHEN SHE REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE BRAKE, AND THE APPLY THE GAS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. WE OWN A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID WITH A "SLOW TO RETURN" GAS PEDAL. WE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO YUBA CITY TOYOTA (CALIFORNIA) IN EARLY TO MID 2009 (PRIOR TO THE TOYOTA RECALL). THE TECHNICIAN AT THAT TIME VERIFIED AND CONFIRMED THE "SLOW TO RETURN" GAS PEDAL AND SAID IT MUST BE COMMON WITH THE CAMRY HYBRID. WHEN THE CURRENT GAS PEDAL RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED WE CONTACTED YUBA CITY TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD THE CAMRY HYBRID WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH WE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE PROBLEM ON PRIOR OCCASIONS PRIOR TO THE RECALL. ON JANAURY 29, 2010 I CONTACTED TOYOTA BY USING THEIR "CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE" TELEPHONE NUMBER (1-800-331-4331) AND WAS TOLD BY IN CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT A "REPRENSENTATIVE" WOULD CALL US WITHIN TWO DAYS. AS OF TODAY, WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED A TELEPHONE CALL BACK FROM TOYOTA AND YUBA CITY TOYOTA WILL NOT ASSIST IN ANY REPAIRS WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FROM TOYOTA. THE TOYOTA REFERENCE # 1001148767 WAS PROVIDED TO ME BY TOYOTA ON JANAURY 29, 2010. I HAVE ATTEMPTED NUMEROUS TIMES TO CONTACT TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF CALLS TO TOYOTA. THE TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS PEDAL AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO ASSIST TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID CUSTOMERS WITH GETTING THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. *TR
AFTER RICE TOYOTA IN GREENSBORO "FIXED" MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY ON 2/27/2010 FOR BOTH RECALLS I HAVE EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN SURGE IN ACCELERATION TWICE. ONCE FROM A STANDING START WHEN I SLIGHTLY DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR SUDDENLY TOOK OFF AT A MUCH HIGHER RATE THAN I INTENDED, THE SECOND TIME WAS IN TRAFFIC WHILE ACCELERATING TO A HIGHER SPEED LIMIT THE CAR SURGED PAST THE LIMIT. PLEASE LOOK AT THE ECU'S, THIS CAR HASN'T BEEN RIGHT SINCE THE FIRST TANK OF GAS WAS USED, IT'S AS IS THE ECU ISN'T ALLOWING THE TIMING TO ADVANCE AND RETARD PROPERLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WHICH WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. WHILE TRAVELING 5 MPH AND UP AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SLOWLY PICKED UP SPEED AND WOULD OFTEN HESITATE. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS. THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON THE VEHICLE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V017000, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: ACCELERATOR PEDAL) AND THE RELATED REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT SINCE THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST ANY FURTHER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. UPDATED 5/10/10 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE UPON ACCELERATION. THERE WAS A DELAY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. UPDATED 09/16/10
3-4 SECOND DELAY IN RESPONSE TIME WHEN MAKING A FAST LANE CHANGE - ENOUGH TIME TO CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENED ONCE IN HEAVY CITY TRAFFIC AND ONCE IN THE EVENING WHEN THERE WAS LITTLE TRAFFIC. THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMED AN ECM CALIBRATION ENHANCEMENT TO CORRECT ANOTHER PROBLEM OF HESITATION WITH THE ACCELERATION & THEN A QUICK SURGE FORWARD. THIS WAS PERFORMED AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT; HOWEVER, IT DID NOT CORRECT MY CURRENT PROBLEM AS THE HESITATION HAPPENED AGAIN (THE 2ND TIME) AFTER THE CALIBRATION. DISCUSSED THIS AT LENGTH WITH THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE ECM CALIBRATION WAS THE ONLY "FIX" PROVIDED TO THEM AND THAT SINCE I STILL HAD THE PROBLEM, I WOULD HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL TO NOT PRESS THE ACCELERATOR QUICKLY TO MAKE A FAST GETAWAY AS THE COMPUTER IS NOT ABLE TO PICK UP THE SIGNAL THAT QUICKLY. THEY COULD ONLY SUGGEST THAT I NEVER PRESS THE ACCELERATOR QUICKLY - TRY THAT ONE WHEN YOU HAVE TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY FAST. I AM NOT TRYING TO MAKE SOMETHING MORE OF THIS THAN IT IS. THERE ARE SOME MUCH MORE SERIOUS PROBLEMS REPORTED ON THE INTERNET THAN THIS ONE. HOWEVER, IT IS SERIOUS. WHEN YOU CANNOT GET GAS WHEN YOU NEED IT, IT IS SERIOUS. THERE IS APPARENTLY A PROBLEM WITH THEIR ELECTRONICS. *TR
I HAVE 2007 CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 40 AND 60 MPH, WHEN I PEDDLED THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR DOES NOT PICK UP/ACCELERATE. THE RPM GOES FROM 2000 TO 4000 RPM, AND AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS OF DELAY CAR PICKS UP. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY, WHILE MERGING ONTO A FREEWAY WHERE THERE IS NO SHOULDER LANE AND YOU HAVE TO MERGE IN REALLY FAST. THE DEALER SAID IT'S A PROBLEM WITH THE SOFTWARE AND THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE IN MY CAR. I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT OCCURS FREQUENTLY IN WINTER. I WENT TO THE DEALER RECENTLY AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION, IT'S JUST THE WAY 2007 MODELS ARE. IN OTHER WORDS, THEY MADE A PIECE OF JUNK IN 2007 AND NOW THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I AM HOPING TO SEE THE RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE SOON. *TR
AS I WAS PULLING INTO THE CURB TO PARK, MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING IN QUAKERTOWN, PA. I PUT IT INTO REVERSE AND STOPPED THE CAR. DAMAGE TO THE BRICK BUILDING WAS EXTENSIVE. PROPERTY DAMAGE AMOUNTED TO $14,500 AND AUTO DAMAGE AT $750. REPLACEMENT PARTS WERE INSTALLED IN THE AUTO. PULLED INTO TRAFFIC SEVERAL TIMES THAT WEEK AND FEW TIMES THE CAR WOULD HESITATE AND JUMP FORWARD, ON 6-11-07 CALLED DET SERVICE DEPT AGAIN BECAUSE THAT MORNING TRYING TO PULL OUT OF DRIVEWAY CAR HESITATED JUMPED FORWARD ALMOST HITTING A UPS TRUCK, VERY DANGEROUS!! WHILE TALKING TO SERVICE DEPT THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THAT DRIVING THE CAMRY FOR A WEEK WOULD NOT HELP THE HESITATION PROBLEM BUT NOT TO WORRY BECAUSE LIKE THE 07 V6 CAMRY THEY HAD TO PULL ALL OFF THE LOT FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WHEN AND IF TOYOTA COMES UP WITH A FIX THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW. I TRADED THE CAMRY BACK IN BECAUSE OF THE DANGEROUS HESITATION PROBLEM AND LOST 7000.00 IN TEN DAYS?? WHEN DRIVING UP A HILL, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE DROVE AS IF IT WAS LOW ON FUEL. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, HE UPDATED THE COMPUTER MODULE. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNDER 28,000.
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY 4 CYLINDER RANDOMLY HESITATES ON TAKE OFF. CAUSES A HAZARD WHEN ENTERING HEAVY TRAFFIC FROM A STOP OR NEAR ZERO ACCELERATION POINT. ALSO DRAGS AND SEEMS TO PULL ON ENGINE WHEN IN A COASTING SITUATION. IT FIRST DID THIS AROUND 6800 MILES. DEALER DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. NOW IT'S DOING IT AGAIN AT 30, 000 MILES AND DEALER SAYS THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN FIND WRONG. *TR

SINCE NEW THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HESITATES WHEN THE CAR IS SLOWED TO ABOUT 20MPH AND WHEN YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE NOTHING HAPPENS FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT RESUMES. THE DEALER SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND THAT'S THE WAY A "DRIVE BY WIRE" TRANSMISSION WORKS. I CALLED THE TOYOTA HOTLINE AND GOT NOWHERE. I SEEMS THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS COMPLAINT. THE INTERNET IS LOADED WITH DISSATISFIED OWNERS. I THINK TOYOTA SHOULD BE MADE TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
